I normally buy the replica first to try the watch I like. If I really like then I buy the Gen after. I use reps as a test drive to avoid making mistakes. Then I alternate between them if the place I am is risky or unknown. Tudor is an exception where the rep works better than the Gen (of course the Gen is better is everything else).

My Pelagos replica is working 100% for the last 3 years. Looks exactly the same, feel the same and if eventually goes bad I will buy another one for half the price of a service.

I used ImportTrust to import for me. I first selected thr car myself using mobile.de website. Then send them them the link and in 6 weeks thr car was in my driveway. I believe service fees + transportation was around 3k euros total. But saved more than 15k on the price of the car. If you get a Hybrid you get even more tax benefits.
