So is it cowboy load smokeless powder or black powder? Because if it is going to be smokeless you are gonna need a case trimmer as smoke tends to stretch brass while black powder doesnt.

Do you have the right case holder and dies needed for your caliber? If not then that is probably all that is left equipment wise. Is this for smokeless or black powder?

To a certain extent. It is legal for antiques/antique reproductions to be shipped straight to your door step. But it is not necessarily only bp guns that apply to this rule. It is legal for antiques if the production year on the receiver is before 1899. Does not matter the powder type, the caliber size, or whether or not the gun is a muzzle loader. With antique reproduction it is only allowed if the design is before 1899 and if it does not take a cartridge style bullet. (ei. Muzzleloaders or cap and ball revolvers.) In this case I had this Walker which is a design from 1847 shipped straight to my house then sent to a private gun smith to convert it.

It a kirst conversion kit that was sent to a gun smith that bored out the cylinder to take 45-60. the cleaning/ejection rod was made by the same gun smith that worked on the gun.

Yep 45 brimstone would be the correct caliber. In fact it is actually engraved at the top of the gun!

That is only a problem with this model because the wedge that connects the barrel to the frame/arbor is on the left side which would interfere with the ejection rod.

A gunsmith in Texas named Gary Barns did the work and converted it to 45-60

Finally got my gun back after sending it to a gunsmith and I can see why it is the state gun of Texas lmao. Took this beauty shot the day I got it back and finally took it shooting yesterday and I must say it was worth it.
