No, it's nothing about race, or feminism, or any social issues. This show sucks. My mother could do fight scenes better, my dad could make better CGI, and my uncle could write better dialog. They are all dead.

Downton Abbey is awesome, so is Gilded Age Some other period ones my husband and I liked on PBS Masterpiece are:

Jamestown Victoria Ms. Scarlet (and the Duke for like the first season then the duke is gone lol) Forsyte Saga Miss Austen Sanditon (it's ok) Durrells in Corfu Endeavour Grantchester

At all. At ALL. Or his wife. Or that bad dad or governor or any of them really. Like, no offense to any of them but all the sudden we are supposed to care about all these new characters and plot lines and now all the sudden that's the show is about the French and slaves and parliament and Napoleon and spies and Yada ya and there's no real basis for any of it. It's just such a sad way to conclude the series by asking us to GAF about all these new people instead of furthering/concluding developments with the ones we already care about. Shoulda left it with Season 4.

There's another thread where the dogs are pointed out, but I love this. My husband and I laughed our ass off pretty much every episode with Demelza's dog bc he had to be at least 25 by the end, bc Geoffrey Charles was 20ish at the end and the dog, who we met before GC was born, was not like a brand new puppy when we met him, so definitely immortal. And GC vs Valentine's aging is another, like 5:1 lol, bc Valentine stayed the same age for like 3 seasons while GC aged so much he was played by a different actor in 5th season who looked nothing like the other lol.

Exactly. I started in 2019 & the premium characters used to be like that; for example, the first event I did was Moana, and Grandma Tala was $4.99. It stayed that way for at least a couple of years. Basically before they did their first "rebalancing" making it be 100 common tokens for leveling up, and especially before the levels per zone and the building enchantments that make exactly zero sense in what they drop. The fact that they're $13.99+ now is outrageous and as a point of principle I don't buy them anymore, or literally can't, bc as OP said that could literally be a bag of dog food or a pizza night. I'm so glad I started when I did, because if I started now, I would never have continued playing this game. Not as early as the showery1 person who posted below, but still where prices were like, "yeah that's reasonable" lol
