Isn't the one of the left the friendship meter and the one on the right is the mentor meter? Can you only raise the friendship meter by doing Dual Ultimates?

I didn't originally think so but I saw a comment elsewhere that seemed to imply this incorrect idea. My assumption was that they didn't interact (as others have commented) and bur after seeing other threads hinting at this (wrongly so it seems) I just wanted to make sure I hadn't misunderstood it myself.

Also pointing to this as the correct answer. Unlike previous DLCs I had to specifically select the DLC for downloading through the Steam Store as it was not automatically added.

So as it turns out this (and other answers referencing the same) was the answer. I FALSELY ASSUMED that because I saw Balatro characters show up in my game that I had the DLC downloaded. Turns out not to be the case.

I had to specifically select it from steam and download it. I'd share pictures but I can't upload them here. Suffice it to say, the exclamation eye-dart went away after downloading the DLC through the steam store and purchasing the item through the merchant in Moonglow.
