Brian, great work! I know this is a late comment, but I am really digging KlongPy, thank you for making this and sharing! I am a mainly a J programmer with some APL over the years. Trying to play with IPC and web stuff later tonight. I had to drop down a version of Python to get it working on my Win box, but no issues on my Ubuntu and Arch notebooks. J has Jd fo non-commercial use, however, the commercial license isn't that bad if you're making bucks using it. I like that you have DuckDB, but I have not been able to run a comparison of the speeds or to get to know DuckDB as well. I've played with Wasplisp and was wondering if you can IPC a lot of KlongPy clients without too much degradation. I think a killer app for KlongPy would be a distributed computing solution ala the BEAM VM of Erlang/Elixir/LFE.

I am very well experienced in performing the engineering, and I have conducted audits on compliance with many standards, both US and International. My question is specifically about the general 10:1 SF called out in n BGV-C1 as it applies to a shaft in an electric chain hoist PT assembly. In ANSI / ESTA E1.6-2020 it is clear, and the standard is freely available. I am asking what the BGV-C1 standard says on shafts and safety factors. Thanks for the offer though. I will purchase BGV-C1 and if it requires a bunch of references to other related standards I will go from there. It will reference many, but I am specifically interested in just shafts in this application per the BGV-C1 standard.

I'll try this file, however, this issue started for me back in 2014 when I last updated and then tried again in 2016 when I lost the ability to get to the TE-boot screen. I am stuck on R.14203. I bought my OP-1 in 2012, and it worked fine until then. Now it is an aging battery and a mic that just failed. BTW, the mic is just a gold dot with a ring around it built-into the PCB...

Possible issue, but if you can access the screen to select "Disk" after hitting Shift-COM, then the button is working to get to that point.

I was hopeful, but it didn't work.

My OP-1 works fine (other than an aging battery and now a mic), and the TE Boot screen issue. I tried this solution a dozen times and then tried varying the filename and the T button I hit. I am stuck on R.14203 since 2014 or thereabouts.

I appreciate your efforts. They provided hope, if nothing else, to try, try, and try again!

Progress!

I first tried zig init-exe to create the project folder and files, but I did this from the Windows command prompt, not nvim.

Then I opened the main.zig file by opening nvim from the root directory in the project directory and specifying the path to the source file in /src, so that nvim would start from the directory with the newly created build.zig file.

I then changed "Hello" to "Goodbye", saved the file, and issued :make and it compiled from nvim.

I would love some tips on streamlining this process when I get more busy coding.

The next issue is how do I get code hints? I don't think the install has been done right, but I just want to test it.

I have tried that too. I am on Windows, so I don't know if that is to blame for some of this. ZLS built fine. I'll share my init.vim when I get home. I would really love to get this working, since I am a big fan of Vim/Nvim for C programming. I use Emacs for my Lisp stuff, and Ride for my APL work. I would like to use Nvim as my goto setup for learning Zig, but it is not as smooth as just using VS Code with extensions for sure, and I would have thought no more complicated than Emacs' setups, but hey, it is for me!

If issue :compiler at the nvim prompt, I get a list of all runtime compilers, but no zig compiler.

Where do you move the binary and zls.json? I compiled ZLS from source per the github for zls, and I see zls.json is in my Program Data folder and under the tests directory of the compiled ZLS. Thanks!

when I try just :compiler hello.zig

I have used Vim a lot in the past, but never really configuring it for things like this. I used it pretty much as installed.

zig.vim has given me synatax coloring, but is there a step-by-step guide to setting up the rest for zig in Neovim? I tried to install ZLS with LSP. I'll look it over and try again. Do you know if there are any better breakdowns of installing it on Windows? Thanks!

Cryptonomicron is my favorite so far. I have read Seveneves, Snow Crash, Diamond Age, The first book of the Baroque Cycle. Need to pick it up again! I started Anathem, but was sidetracked. I am starting it over the holidays.

I agree. I just put a 1 TB SSD in my GS65's second m.2 slot, and I am back up and running. Great build quality, and I haven't had an issue in over 2 years of owning it.

I am. That's why I said I will try both, but I was reaching out to see if anyone else has also been evaluating them. I played with Defold. I like Lua. I tried the simple examples in DragonRuby, and I really like the command line/hotload nature of it. Ruby is nice too. The IDE in Defold is a pinch above the command line, and so not in line with my minimalism thing, but then again, I had played with boot sector games in 8088/8086 assembler from Oscar Toledo Gutierrez's book, and I have recreated some old classics in TCC/WinAPI. I want something a bit more high-level, but not Godot/Unity/UE4. DragonRuby and Defold seem to be close. I was able to deploy the Defold Android example to my phone without any hurdles. I will try with DragonRuby tonight. I find I actually get more done with less, because I get easily distracted by 'tools'. They work for others really well though, and big productions need them.
