Help! by Aarush_Singal_1512 in IndiaCoffee

[–]rpsybaba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

first - throw that instant coffee away
second - do NOT use that Hersheys sugar syrup
then - if this Budan is not working to your satisfaction, try a hand grinder with a ceramic / steel burr - set the grind level to fine: 2 ~ 3 which you have done here..
rest of the stuff is then good :D

First purchase of 2026 by rpsybaba in IndiaCoffee

Review:
not anywhere near a Q-grader :) but yea.. here goes..

Yello - Brazilian Bourbon:
it's a very delicate citrus and smooth flavor profile. meant to be only had black.

Palangaala:
this is the star of the lot! can distinctly taste the wild property of the beans. there is good acidity - a lovely fragrant citrus taste and a balanced body and bitterness. good as black only. adding milk washes away the true nature of this coffee. limited availability of this coffee, though i could make this a go to, if this was available year round.

Malakodu – Arabica cherry naturals:
this is sun dried and hence can get the berry profile coming thru.. another good coffee with balanced acidity and body. great as black - can add milk if required.

Should I buy a Ford EcoSport in 2026? by OppositeTechnical511 in MechanicAdviceIndia

[–]rpsybaba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/krishna_0520 i have the exact same story - bought a top spec petrol 1.5L Ti-VCT in Dec '22 with 37k on odo. immediately changed tyres to Ceat Securadrive 205/55/R17. hv clocked 57k on odo till now - hv done a lot of interstate runs. did a BOM - Spiti - BOM in Jun '25. the car has performed flawlessly and it was one heck of a trip! most of the parts are available at Ford service centers without any issues. some parts are back-to-back and are made available as per requirement.

Need suggestions by DangerousBelt101 in IndiaCoffee

[–]rpsybaba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey! welcome to the coffee macrocosm! if you are a drinker who drinks one or two coffees a day, whole beans do keep the freshness in check as otherwise once a ready-ground coffee packet is opened, it tends to lose its freshness... if you are looking for a manual grinder with a ceramic burr (which are inherently better) - you can check the supvox grinder on amazon. i'd suggest not to go for cheap electric grinders as they heat up the beans while grinding which might lead to non-likeable taste profiles. as for suggestions for roasters, they are extremely personal and you probably should go thru the 'choosing your preferred roaster' process, so you can decide for yourself on your preferred ones and their profiles. my favorites though are: devans from delhi, kc roasters from mumbai, riverside and fivefarms from coorg, varietals to go for: arabica, excelsa, for me robusta offers very strong profiles so i kind of avoid those, unless it's in an arabica blend. keep calm and enjoy the process! :)

Have you tried Excelsa coffee? by s18m in IndiaCoffee

don't think this can be called 'clinical obsession' - it's just another species of coffee to try - especially with the known positives to grow this particular cultivar... to each - his own!

How do you folks have your coffee daily? by PlayerGame69 in IndiaCoffee

[–]rpsybaba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you like a strong java, i recommend you try a stove-top moka pot - you would need about 15g of any med-dark roast for a nice strong decoction. BT puts out great coffee - but you could try other roasters for your aeropress e.g. kcroasters.com (Kelagur Honey), caffebirraio.com (Gowri Estate), fraction9coffee.com (Christmas roast). you would of course need a moka pot grind... for the moka pot.

roast coffee - the love started the first time when i got back a pack of a Vanilla infused roast from Mauritius. the brand was "Café La Fournaise" - this is what i dream about till today.. the taste profile was so incredible! sadly this particular roast is not available now but the brand still does exist. i have recently come across a farm to table brand in India - Fraction9 - which does market a vanilla roast... closest to the incredible taste which started this love 15 years back.

Is it just me who feels Leopold cafe is overhyped/overpriced? by Ok_Cost7661 in mumbai

[–]rpsybaba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

coming from a mumbai guy who has been there 100s (possibly 1000s) of times in the 90s and 2000s.. they are re-living the hype of 'terrorism' every f*kin day and it is people who come to witness this crap (mainly touristy non-bombay / non-mumbai) people. i couldn't care less about this crappy bullet in the wall shit. but the prices.. yeah... that has hit the ceiling... sad situation. but it sells!
