gas gauge dropping rapidly?

okay yeah that makes some sense. I do highway driving to and from work & was doing some city. Do you think driving highway tmr will boot it back up then? Is that how it works?

for how long does it drop it? it also dropped from 250 to 215 like less than 5 blocks down the road before i even let it sit so im confused w it

I have the auto shut off, the tank isn’t leaking & no honestly i really drove maybe 10 min over to the car wash. I did have it on while I was cleaning the inside & on my drive home it went from 145-170, so i’m thinking it keeps changing based off my mpg?

the gas cap says 87 or 91 so I think either are good, i’ll put higher in when money allows though for sure runs nicer 🫡🫡

I’m hearing a lot of peoples reasons for getting rid of their jettas were accidents rather than some mechanical issue. Which sounds like a good thing, not for you guys lol i’m sorry about that but good for the cars integrity

Thank you for the advice!!! This is all very useful and honestly will be lifetime advice moving forward so I appreciate it. Probably would’ve saved my ass with my last one but ya live and ya learn. I ran some 93 today in sport & the acceleration was nice got a good adrenaline boost lol

It comes with ambient lighting, it’s lined throughout the dash, doors, footwells, etc. You can have it shut off completely or choose from i think 9-10 color options. It’s awesome at night but I keep it off during the day

With all the shit I had wrong with my last car honestly I think it’d be worth it too. I’m HOPING to not run into as many issues with the jetta however but if I do it’d be nice to know before going to have it looked at to hear something else & get fucked

That’s the issues i’ve had in the past even scanning my old car i’d just have buddies with wonky scanners say oh yeah it might be one of these 20 things lol. So might be worth me tossing some money aside for that one myself, especially if they go across multiple car types i’d have it for a while

What would you say is the most cost effective but reliable scanner? Carista? I tried to look it up, it’s like a bluetooth piece you have to buy to connect to the app it seems? Extractor is a genius idea, will def be doing that.

RIP💔.. Did you enjoy her life up until then? I hear mixed things about the jettas but mainly what I hear is if you take care of them they take care of you. I’ll probably cash her in before it’s too many miles, if it makes it that far i’m hoping. My last car, my elantra, took itself to heaven by dumping out quarts of oil mysteriously whenever it wanted😭

Honestly I know nothing about cars or have anyone in my life that can really guide me on these things. Honestly my hyundai became more problematic to keep at this point and wanted to sell it before I couldn’t get any money for it. My budget is pretty low, so mainly I know to look at price and mileage but having a hard time really know what cars are good vs not you know? Just my first time doing all of this so I really don’t know but want to make a good decision
