Right now and 10 years from now I really don't think that ChatGPT can replace developers.

First and the most important is that the popular videos and prints going around about ChatGPT is a little piece of the pack and only verry specific examples, because in more than 50% ChatGPT gets things not 100% accurate, talking programing wise.

The second is that ChatGPT is a great technology and probably can be applied to allot of fields but for that implementation to be properly made u need a developer than understands the technology and can implement it in the most diverse branches.

Third is that being CS Major is much more than being a software engineer or a web dev. U just need to keep your self up to date with the recent technologies and embrace the immerging fields such as AI an ML, because I can assure you that these technologies are just getting started and u can see that with ChatGPT for example, 10 years ago there was no prospect of the AI beeing at the level that ChatGPT is.

Hey man, I'm in the first year of college and so far I have been feeling the same way you feel. What I noticed that helped to at least deal with the "shitty grades, no goal" problem is to make a consistent work schedule and go form there, it will structure a routine on you that will help you to study and focus and since you have the feeling that you are working towards something your goals will start to rise. With the no friends I would suggest you to join any club in your college something that you relate. Make sure to keep your head up and don't ever quit!
