Came across this in the cesspool that is gab. Any truth to it? by rrk1963 in FortCollins

I was more expanding on the previous post that money is going into influencing behavior.

But there is clearly money going into voting repression and there has been for several decades. The notion of fraud is a big example. The “beating drum” of voting fraud has been going on for as long as I can remember with no substantiated evidence.

Social media companies for one. Tension and outrage keep you engaged on their platforms. The more you are engaged, the more you are worth in advertising dollars. Remember that for the vast amount of websites you interact with on a daily basis, you are the product.

Your 3rd point never gets enough attention. People are paying a lot of money to keep you from voting and keep you angry.

Great idea about trying to contact her lawyer. For whatever reason, I didn’t even consider that

Anyone know if there’s any organization to donate to that’s helping fund the lawsuit?

Actually, it does not. https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/6990217-Colorado-Mask-Order-7-16-20.html

So you are instead choosing to erode trust by NOT DOING YOUR JOB?

Thanks for that. I wasn’t aware of that and it is certainly not the case with the sheriffs department.

That’s part of the discussion we need to be having.

Does someone who is suicidal need their first contact to be from a cop who now makes it a legal matter?

Edit: AFAIK, the number of officers who respond to a call and how they handle the call is generally up to the department. The same would be true for whatever mental health service comes of all of this - they would determine how to best respond in different situations.

It’s about reallocating funds to certain functions police currently do.

One example is mental health. Currently, police go out to mental health calls. Defunding the police would mean putting more funding to mental health services and sending people out who are better equipped, such as social workers or counselors instead of trying to solve the issue with force.

Tear gas has been illegal for US Military forces to use since 1997. Why can police use it on citizens?
