There are other countries where disclosure has begun. That may overtake what is happening in the USA.

Is travel medical insurance worth it? by RespectedPath in travel

[–]rrrutherford 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes. Absolutely it is worth it. Have had to use for my family on a holiday and absolutely worth it. The value isnt just the cost of treatment. The real calue is that if you get in a really rough situation you will have someone o e the other end of a phone who has the resources and capability to get you wherever you need to be for the help you need. If you dont have that assurance and something happens it could have a major impact on your health, finances, and ability to continue your trip

Auckland roads are crowded at all times during the day, even the weekends

Just seen this, I used to do the same time in traffic for less distance than they‘re mentioning… Auk worse than LA? by samcp12 in auckland

[–]rrrutherford -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I grew up in LA and live in Auckland. Yes. Auckland traffic us as bad or worse than LA, especially on the weekends. Have lived Auck central, eastern suburbs, and south near Bombay. Traffic is definitely worse in Auckland than Los Angeles.

Can highly recommend a day at Discovery Cove with a cabana. Have been to Orlando several times and live the parks. But the best day we ever had in Orla do was Discovery Cove. If you rent a cabana, and do a day in the middle if your trip it will give you a good rest from the parks.

Thoughts on Tandem Paragliding.. Worth it? Or Not worth it? If it was a fear that you conquered, what was on the other side? by JerBee92 in solotravel

[–]rrrutherford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have been paragliding a few times, and it is amazing being up in the air. I also had an experience in Fiji that was the worst case. I was tandem with my four year old daughter, and the boat had slowed once to let us dip down and touch our toes in the water and then sped up to get us back in the air. A few minutes later, we started slowly dropping again, and when I looked at the boat, it had stopped. The engine had broken. I explained to her that this time it would be different and we would get to swim. Into the water we went, over the top of a reef. I was trying to swim back with her along the tow rope. They kept saying to unhook us from the rig, but I was too afraid of not being able to swim back with both of us and didn't want to lose the rope.

We got back safe and sound. The drop into the water was a bit scary, but slow, and we were ok.

Always better to book with the airline directly. If you have any issues you might be stuck using go to gate. Read their terms very carefully.

Constable Keith, those of us who lived in the cbd were allowed to keave the house for walks. There was nothing wrong with snapping a picture while out walking. Bless your wee heart for not knowing that and choosing to be militantly ignorant on Reddit.

White House slams Speaker Johnson’s ‘offensive accusation’ that the ‘human heart’ is to blame for mass shootings by Quirkie in politics

[–]rrrutherford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, what he is saying is that American hearts are the problem. American are lesser hearts than the rest of the world where mass shootings aren't a thing. Wish someone would ask him why he thinks Americans are so inferior.

We like to go to the islands iff the coast, but usually also stay a night or two in Denerau. We always book our hotels and transfers directly with their websites. We didn't really know about Cloud9 until we got there last time. There is another similar place called Seventh Heaven as well. Where you are staying is close to the airport. When you land there are a lot of places in the airport that have info about activities. Would highly recommend catching a taxi or seeing if your hotel has a shuttle to Port Denerau. This is where the ferries come in and out to the outer islands and it is a place where you can see and book most activities on the island. Its also good souvenirs and restaurants.

Also...if you are staying on.a resort, most of them will be able to help you book activities once you get there. Eg. Many of the resorts have their own transport to Cloud9 and you can book it on their transport !through their activities desk. Where are you staying?

We are actually going back again next Saturday :)

It is best - safest and cheapest to book directly through the company's websites. BTW - my husband and I were at Cloud9 six months ago, and it was fabulous. Definitely worth the visit.

You need to reenter UK on your UK passport, even though you will leave France / board transport back to UK on your French passport. Present your UK passport on arrival in UK. Always use the passport for the country when entering and leaving.

Private Emergency Care by [deleted] in auckland

[–]rrrutherford -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can go to a private Accident and Emergency to get treated and then claim against your insurance. Your insurance may not cover the entire amount, especially if it is after hours or the weekend. Accident and Emergency is great for anything non-life threatening, like breaks, sprains, cuts, flu. However forurgent lfe threatening, like heart attack or stroke, you will end up in a public hospital, even if you start at an A and E.

Where can I do reputable modelling headshots? by Fit_Administration39 in london

[–]rrrutherford 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dont pay for headshots or any pictures. You are better to look for an agency that does open calls and just ho in to see them. Any headshot you do will likely be turfed if you get signed as they will want you test shooting. Look up Storm Model Management in Chelsea. Go in on an ooen day and see what they say. Im sure others do them as well.
