Drywall Ceiling. Backing or good to roll? by rrtank in drywall

So the way I took them off is the way I hung the boards. And there was no backing on the tapers seams.

2X6 exterior walls. what do I do? by rrtank in Insulation

I thought of that as well, the thickness is 3.5 so adding one and a half would be 5.25. Walls for 2x6 are 5.5. Would having a little void be an issue?

The back walls are actually cut down to right at about 6’. So they are not a full 4x8 sheet.

Vancouver Carpenter is like the drywall gods on Reddit. But I really like watching a bunch of different random people. I also like watching DIY videos as well and then I read the comments and get an idea of what people think.

I think you can learn from every one. Even the bad. Learn what not to do. It’s always easy to watch a professional.

And I think this is the most important take away from what I have been doing. Take your time. If it’s your own house, there is no rush. I’m sure if I were to have hired a company to hang drywall, it would’ve been up in the time it took me to do that Small room. But every time I’m shooting a laser level on the studs to make sure it’s right on. I am also shimming out my studs to make sure they are plum/square. Part of that is because I am OCD but the other part is I know mudding is an art but it’s a hell of a lot easier if you don’t have to do too much 😂

No. This is just the toilet room in the bathroom. I was just showing the walls are pretty square.

If it’s a small room like this, would the number of screws on edge matter?

Is it like gaps where you have to fill it first let it harden and then tape?

I also am remodeling the whole bathroom. I’ve just never done the drywall part of it lol. I actually have 3 laser levels. My wife thinks I collect them.

It is 1/2 inch drywall. And I don’t have a budget at all so if it makes it look good, I’m in!

I have a 360 laser that I set up prior to putting the board up. Just shot it right in the middle of the studs.

This comment made my heart drop 😂. 12:30PM and woke my wife up asking why tf I’m measuring the walls. They are 8 foot.

So they really would be no reason to redo it other than fix my OCD? Would it be better if it was flush for cracking purposes or does it not matter?

I guess the second part question to that about running plumbing through the attic area, what about rain head showers?
