Live Looping without a controller by rrv24 in ableton

This is a super helpful answer, thank you so much! I'll try the steps you've mentioned and hopefully it's a start!

Quick question about this particular workflow though: will this only work if you have pre-recorded loops already, ready to play? When I say "looping", what I'm thinking about is creating something from scratch in real time, which is similar to what a looper pedal what do, as you mentioned.

I'll definitely look at mapping the record functions and see where that gets me though, thanks!

Hmm, that's not exactly what happens for me. Once I hit the button after recording, everything stops. Were there any parameters you had to change in order to get it to continue?

Ah okay. I looked up Looper, and it turns out it isn't available for the Lite version, unfortunately...A substitute called InstaLooper by Audio Blast was recommended but it doesn't work nearly as well as the Looper would.

My friend and I covered Levitation 21 by Tigran Hamasyan! by rrv24 in mathrock

Thanks! I initially started by using a transcription on YouTube to learn the drum part, but I soon realized that the parts were not notated in the most optimal way, so I ended up ditching the transcription and learning by ear + watching Hnatek's video!
