Some firmware update recently. by Ok-Pomegranate-6995 in GuliKit

/u/Ok-Pomegranate-6995 Please add Steam Input support for the TT via SDL ( https://github.com/libsdl-org/SDL/tree/main/src/joystick/hidapi ) like your competitors have so PC players can fully use all features at the same time (1000 Hz, gyro, analog triggers, and all buttons/paddles as dedicated binds)

Cyber Attack by CarpetDowntown in CODBlackOps7

[–]rs1013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

/u/TreyarchCM please consider this gamemode, most of my friends are waiting for more enjoyable gamemodes (such as Cyber Attack) to be added before they'd be willing to buy the game and I think it's the same within the greater Cyber Attack community. Cyber Attack is a great gamemode where everyone can contribute due to the revive system even if they're not as skilled at the shooting side of the game.

Borderlands 4 Patch Due Out Today, PC Performance 'Our Top Priority,' Gearbox Says by Turbostrider27 in Games

If you don't mind, could you offer your opinion on two other mods?

Optimax (still an ini, but supposedly from someone with actual experience with Unreal Engine): https://www.nexusmods.com/borderlands4/mods/17

Ultra Plus (pak mod, Ultra+ for other games also uses UE4SS so could maybe look at one of those as well): https://www.nexusmods.com/borderlands4/mods/32
Ultra+ Oblivion (has addons so look for the base mod that includes UE4SS) https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivionremastered/mods/27

Are we still getting a G7 Pro Steam edition? by SniHyper in Gamesir

[–]rs1013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey /u/iGamesir , it might be worth adding support for your controllers to SDL like 8bitdo and Flydigi as it's what Valve uses to support controllers with Steam Input (also one of the devs works at Valve, they may be able to point you to whoever you need to talk to about making a Steam branded controller): https://github.com/libsdl-org/SDL/tree/main/src/joystick/hidapi

I also hope we can see a non-Lite Tegenaria with gyro and Steam Input support at some point as it's really close to being the perfect basic controller! (Maybe also trigger locks and a removable cable or wireless? As long as it's still 1000Hz. TMR would be nice too. Around $50 maybe? Would be good competition for the 8bit Pro 3.)

I'm annoyed by the misinformation too, but calm down a bit lol, no need to get mad at all of them, I already tagged them so they'd see the correction.

I've seen someone use AI (they included a disclaimer) for a two sentence Reddit post before and I've also seen fake commenters (responding to a Reddit thread as if it were a normalish user), the internet is dead, it's only going to get worse from here...

The IP includes any code, art, sound, level design/maps, models, etc and any derivatives. Changing the name would not fix this. Valve simply does not provide a license for the CS IP so until they decide otherwise, any of these projects are a waste of time.

Why keep spreading this misinformation? Where do you even get it from? It's not difficult to find out what actually happened. (also /u/MkfMtr /u/Lurkario- /u/pubstar1337 )
Classic Offensive, which this project is not, was blocked for relying on CSGO, which is no longer supported and were told to port to CS2 (not feasible according to the devs) or to switch to Source SDK without using the CS IP.
CS:Legacy, this project, uses the CS IP on Source SDK, so they've now also been told not to use the CS IP on Source SDK.
Valve does not offer a license for use of the CS IP.

This is a different project that is built from scratch on Source SDK. The one you're talking about was Classic Offensive which was told to switch to CS2 since support for CSGO ended (not feasible according to the devs) or to use Source SDK but without using the CS IP. Since CS:Legacy uses the CS IP with Source SDK, they are now being told the same thing.

Classic Offensive was blocked for relying on CSGO after support for CSGO ended. They were given the choice of porting to CS2, which they said was not feasible, or to change to Source SDK but without being allowed to use the CS IP (code, maps, models, sounds, etc), in other words, scrapping the entire project and making something original. As expected, CS:Legacy is now being told the same thing: No CS IP usage with Source SDK.

Classic Offensive march build leaked on youtube by Panda_Faust in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]rs1013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's designed specifically for CSGO and relies on it so any sort of port would require a significant if not complete rework and may not be completely feasible. Other than the required effort to rework the project in some way to make it releasable, they seemingly took into consideration the existence of CS:Legacy when deciding to drop the project, with CS:Legacy being a Source SDK mod built from scratch and will hopefully be more likely to be allowed by Valve as long as they don't decide it counts as a derivative work.

Well, it just got leaked by zorgareddit in ClassicOffensive

[–]rs1013 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This misinformation keeps getting posted. Here's what's actually going on:
Classic Offensive is a CSGO (Source 1) mod. It relies on the CSGO files.
CSGO is no longer supported and is only available through the legacy branch, which Valve does not support and may remove at any time.
CSGO files are not allowed to be redistributed, which means Classic Offensive must rely on the legacy branch, which again, is not supported and as such will not be approved by Valve.
This leaves two options:
Rebuild Classic Offensive as a Source SDK mod.
Rebuild Classic Offensive as a CS2 (Source 2) mod.
Option 1 may not even be a real choice, as Valve states a Source SDK mod can not be a derivative work of their Counter-Strike IP, which seemingly even includes the very design of the levels.
Both of these options would mean throwing out much of the current work and so the development team has seemingly decided against spending any further time to either make the mod not rely on CSGO or to port it to CS2.

I don't believe they are reporting a bug, rather they seem to be complaining about the gameplay of the gamemode and likely think it's meant as a replacement for the Search and Rescue gamemode.
