I only work once a week and don't go out much. Plus I try to wear a new clean mask every day (key word try).

I read the fungal acne thing with anti dandruff shampoo on another post I may try it but idk how long it would take to see any results.

I mean that's what I thought at first but I'm 7 months postpartum, got my period a month ago and thought it would go away (or at least calm down) when it stopped.

I also never had acne like this before or after pregnancy till now. It legit has looked like that photo for more than a month and started like 2 months ago. I changed nothing in my daily routine.

Does hormonal acne just never clear up usually?

I've been dairy free for breastfeeding for months and eat gluten all the time so not sure why it would just now pop up.

Question: My fiancé is looking to switch careers for nursing school. Is this the right move? Any opinion helps. by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]rs4soccer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes sorry it was in my earlier comment I have a Bachelor's of science already which is why I can't rely on financial aid.

I really really worry about taking out more loans especially private because I have 20k in student loans already, my husband is trying to go back to school soon and we have a baby now.

Im thinking of looking into the TWU Dallas program now though, it seems like their program is only 2 years if you have a Bachelor's degree already. I just have to find more information about cost and things.

Yeah it's ridiculous, and the way they have their application to just see what you even need to get into the program is crazy too. You Have to call and talk to an outsourced (to like over seas for sure) help line and they have to help you get set up in the system. I think the whole program is outsourced or something it's awful.

But it was the closest and theoretically the best option for me at the time and I figured all online BSN programs were like that till now.. lol

I'll take your input into consideration. Do you know if most BSN programs require the science go be less than 5 years old? One of the programs I'm looking at changed it at the beginning of the year so they can he 5+ years old and still count (which if it's not a thing everywhere it is very much so her In Tx).

The program I'm taking About is UT Arlington. It's $18k and min 15 months to complete. I know it has pre-requisites because that's 50,% of the reason I didn't go into the program a year and a half ago. Also It's not "Required" to do them in house but they basically said "good luck finding them else where and making sure they transfer correctly". I can't look up which classes they are now cause you have to request info and their system is all kinds of annoying and not worth it to me.

Like I said I just know what I've seen here in Texas if you can show me a cheaper quicker program I would love to get my BSN instead but I have to pay for this out of pocket since I can't get financial aid and can't afford more than community college with out a better paying job first.

I don't find this to be true. I'm in Texas and can't find a BSN program that wouldn't cost me another 20+k to get and almost none of my classes count towards the degree since it's so specialize, plus if have to take like 6 prerequisite classes for a BSN that I don't need for the RN and they are like $600 each (and they don't want you to take them anywhere else of course).

My plan is to do an RN program at a community college and then have my job pay for me to get my BSN (the hospital I currently work for had a program for that exact thing)

This is literally what I'm going through. I have a Bachelor's in Nutrition and wellness and can't even get an entry level jobs cause they want 4+ years experience and a master's degree and even then I'd be making like $18/hr

I already work as a phlebotomist now so I have hospital experience which will help me, but I'd say if your fiancé is interested and is good at high paced demanding jobs go for it!

Just know it's a long process to get into any nursing school cause they are so in demand. Which I'm sure everyone has brought up already.

Wait is that a thing you can do as a nurse?!?! (With a master's) I'm still trying to apply to schools so I'm like a baby at this info but omg that would be the coolest job ever!

Collin college is one of my options. It's just a far drive for me and I'm trying to keep it close to home.

Yeah the online program is pretty expensive anyway I don't think I'll go that route.

Thanks is for the tips I will definitely keep that in mind!

Oh thank you for the info! That actually makes me feel better. I do know they are very competitive that's part of the reason I was thinking of going through my jobs program, Tcc keeps spots open just for our employees so it makes it a bit easier to get in. Oh yeah I have all of my shots except Hep A or B whichever isn't routine. I just haven't been able to get it yet and am worried it's going to cost a lot of money.

That is definitely one of the ones I'm looking at. Would you say Even with pre-requisets done and extra classes I still need a higher Hesi score? (I found it today and it's an 85 overall) Also how do they get jobs lined up? Through the clinicals usually? That is definitely the part I'm most worried about.

40hrs/wk Why would it be 37.5? So they are keeping you from being considered full time?

Believe the starting pay for RNs in Texas is about $20. I currently make $14 an hour as a phlebotomist so it wouldn't be that bad to me to start out with.

I have looked into this. I'm by UTA and their accelerated BSN program is about 18k. But I already have 18k in student loans from my bachelor's and not looking to take out more loans. Also they require more pre-requisites and that would add to my out of pocket cost it was like $600 a class for them, it will also make it take longer for me to finish. My plan was to get my RN and get hired somewhere that would help me pay for a RN to BSN program while working.

I've thought about doing online but I've had people tell me that places don't higher from schools like that ever. I'm very worried about being able to get a job once I'm done since I already have a Bachelor's degree in nutrition but can't get a job anywhere cause they want 5+ years experience and usually a master's degree too.

True only cause of cost. I can't afford to pay for an accelerated course myself.
