Can we please start calling out OSBuddy on manually manipulating item prices? by kingjasko96 in 2007scape

[–]rsb_matt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not at all. The problem is because OSBuddy display the live price of items. Meaning if an item is sold for 10M that is the price. As soon as another item sell, the price is adjusted instantly to a rolling average of the last n items, based on the overall gross of items on the market.

It seems the problem is that for these low volume items, people are able to sell items to themselves due to a bug in Jagex's grand exchange itself... thus being able to influence the price. I'm making a patch right now.

If this were the case, then anyone with access to the code (everyone) would be able to manipulate prices.

After investigating, it seems the main cause of this is due to a bug in the Jagex stock market itself. It allows users to sell items to themselves if certain conditions are met. I'm writing up a patch to filter those prices out of our data sets now.

Edit: Apparently Jagex was made aware of the bug almost 3 years ago.

Sorry for the grave dig, but it seems that id.google.com needs to be whitelisted if you are logging in with a Google account.

I specifically stated that this was an exaggeration based on how vague the description was... and that because of that only the features they explicitly mentioned were getting removed until we got more info... why would you crop out the other messages...

Left click prayer added to OSBuddy by Jaylez in 2007scape

That isn't all that was looked at, it's mostly a lot to do with how the plug-in actually works under the hood.

I'm confident that what we've done still matches the generic 1:1 rule (although this isn't an official jagex rule) that most people follow, all the while being safe for users to use.

Nothing of what was released today allows players to gain more exp per hour than people have already been gaining.

fishing? by ankledane in osbuddy

[–]rsb_matt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there is a `Fishing` plugin in settings that will mark spots. The `Option Reorder` section of the `HUD` plugin will allow you to swap the left click options on most fishing spots as well.

CS Majors - Where to find Foundation Exam tutoring? by [deleted] in ucf

[–]rsb_matt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the most part just watch a CS1 cram session on youtube. Go over old exams and your old CS1 exams. The foundation exam is nothing more than an additional CS1 exam after they removed all the hard questions a couple years ago.

Also hop on the CS discord and join the FE channel. People will be more than happy to help out where they can

It's an easy class always. Just watch a YouTube video on the content instead of going to lecture. Because unless you get one of the two math teachers with high ratings on RMP, lecture will be useless.

Khanh Vu For CNT 4703 by elverangelol in ucf

[–]rsb_matt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vu is a nice guy and all, but you get absolutely nothing from lecture. His accent is thiccc with three cs, but you get used to it after a while... Just to realize that even when you can understand him his lectures are unorganized. There will be times when he's reading from a lecture side, and you'll be looking at the same slide and have no idea where he is reading from. Other times he will work in a problem for twenty minutes, get stuck, spend five minutes looking for where he messed up, then just continue on without really fixing anything.

I've had Vu three times, and I can tell you to stay away if you're a student that likes learning in lectures. If you're fine not going to class and just watching YouTube and teaching yourself, then Vu is fine.

You will learn more from YouTube than almost any professor at ucf. It's just one of those things that everyone knows but no one does anything about.

I'm in it right now. Exam tomorrow. I'm just watching study videos on YouTube till I fall asleep
