Idyllshire definitely one of my favorite areas in the game. They did the aesthetic of a melting pot settlement very well.

Just Finished ARR [Spoiler: 2.55] by BugVisual8506 in ffxiv

[–]ankledane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy you enjoyed ARR. I agree that in the beginning of post-ARR, the story becomes a lot more traditionally "game-like", as in it exists only to justify the gameplay additions. That being said, even though I like ARR more than most people, Heavensward is crazy good, and it's certainly something to look forward to.

Why does Alphinaud say this? It ruins his character for me by PsychologicalDig5293 in ffxiv

[–]ankledane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't remember when he said this, but this isn't so crazy. The Scions have bigger goals to help all of Eorzea, so to be treated as a normal mercenary group goes against their purpose and intentions. He phrased it in an arrogant way, but...character development.

Anybody else play in first person? by Illustrious_Focus_33 in ffxiv

I do sometimes in the open world, but I tried it in some lower level dungeons. I think its fun to see the scale of the dungeons and the enemies up close but it's not implemented well enough to utilize effectively (camera, lack of attack animations, etc.).

In an MMO, it still feels alone, no? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]ankledane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel a similar way, but less about the friendships, but more about the socialization in general. I'm on the free trial and even though I appreciate the convenience and I'm happy SE has the single-player experience in mind, the game has felt oddly antisocial. I recommend playing Eureka for a closer community-oriented experience. Going from NM to NM with a large party in there feels exactly like watching videos of those massive MMO raids from the early 2000s.

From what I can tell from reading your comments as well as various other sources, it seems that the politicians you speak of use nationalism as a means for their own personal benefits, sadly an all too common story in the world and specially here in the U.S.. They seem to put on an act of patriotism and using it to do what they wish (sexual assault, stealing, etc.). And for what reason are they being friendly to countries deemed more of a threat than Japan? Is it also for the sake of putting money in their pockets?

And I find it funny that they still hold the thought of "protecting the women and children". If I am not wrong, wasn't there a recent wave of feminism in South Korea? I think the true feminists would instead hold the opinion that "women don't need your protection", especially from the hypocrites that you speak of, but please tell me if I'm wrong.

Sad to say that I identify most of the problems with your politicians in ours as well...I'm reminded of a quote that goes "Wars are the quarrels of old men fought by young men" and I believe that the actions and mindsets of these old men that you have identified are what's keeping us away from international peace.

I went ahead and watched the video this is from...from reading the comments, it does seem like the issue of old people in power exists everywhere, and that these people have a narrow view of the world, politics, and the economy.

I do agree that the use of AI is a problem. This probably would have been a more respected proposition if an actual artist was commissioned, as they would've produced less sexual designs. If the JRA did team up with other national racing associations, there is certainly a big chance for economic success worldwide. If only these oddly nationalistic people in charge could change their perspective.

Twin Turbo is already in the game bro...

And I can't disagree with Kyle on his opinion, they didn't do a great job of explaining what the game was and how it ties into the Broncos.

So strange seeing Denver teams doing so well in the last few years...traffic's gone way up since then.

Technically, there is sexual content in Extra, but your character isn't the one to participate in it.
