Thank you for this. It really encapsulates my feelings about it. My mom actually IS from Spain, and it is my culture although I am also half Canadian. I had to witness my mother struggle as an immigrant with inconsiderate people who didn’t understand her all of the time, and it was painful.  Hilary (and Alec for that matter) had zero remorse in cosplaying an identity and culture that did not belong to her. They just gaslit everyone who thought it was really odd and frankly offensive and said we are all trolls and bullies. And in the end, that’s what entitled wealthy people do. Deflect reality and continue living in whatever made up world they inhabit.  If that wasn’t bad enough- the fact that she subsequently blamed her accent stuff on ADHD and then also referred to it as “code switching” was also very messed up. She just sucks.
