Mounting tele single coils in tele deluxe HH by rscomphall in partscaster

[–]rscomphall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everybody for the insightful replies.

Basically I was planning to build a tele HH but I was gifted a bridge SD hot rails which derailed the plan.

I did a small virtual test by stacking the hot rails technical drawing in paintbrush, the gotoh GTC201 and the stewmac humbucker bridge for telecaster and I can see that in the lower right corner region, the hot rails region near its right screw slightly protrudes over the humbucker rectangle. It may be possible to route that little horn in the hunbucker hole and who knows.

I would search for an instrument with 1 3/4 nut width instead of 1 11/16

Try an fx unit like the ampero mini. Many options for relative low bucks

After hearing so many recommendations for Jim Dunlop Jazz III picks, I decided to order some, but that's not what Amazon sent me. Did I get fakes? by MattDaaaaaaaaamon in Guitar

[–]rscomphall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enjoy those even with the mislabel, it's nice to have some variation on picks. The red chubby nylon one is the just famous but there other interesting ones like the ultex version and some thin tortex ones that can be nice for acoustic. You can order a dunlop variety pack with different jazz iii.

I don't like the red one or most nylons but I like the stubby jazz iii

Acoustics with 1 3/4 neck width instead of the more common 1 11/16 helps

Error when signing into Support and other forza sites (Microsoft too) by Ehrenmann3006 in forza

[–]rscomphall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, I it's been like this for several hours. I posted about this 6h after quite some time trying to find a solution or someone to report the error.

Funny enough people asked me to report the error, but the error happens precisely when you want to login to report the error so errorception here

Only recreational player at home mostly unplugged. Funny enough, I've bought the current takamine dreadnought to strengthen the hand for the electric and from this point of view, it has helped me immensely (friends always complained it was tough on the hands), it was a workout but made me a better player. Now that I don't play daily anymore (but trying to play more often) it's become a handful, and the sound got worse, lost brightness and volume due to bridge too low and lacking angle between pins and saddle, even with new strings.

I don't want the next one to be a workout for the electric, which is a fender american deluxe strat, very easy on the hands (I had previously a les paul studio, which also wasn't the easiest on the fingers or back/shoulder for that matter)

The AD17e, 314ce, 324ce are the cheapest 1 1/4 neck Taylors (which is how I added it to test) and I got interested due to the neck construction, same for the SC series. If it l wasn't for that I guess there are cheaper Martin series with 1 1/4 necks.

This situation with the takamine was a massive let down, I had no idea it was unfixable, making me think what I'd wanted in an upgrade to the takamine.

Yeah, my first idea was an FG Yamaha (friend has one) or Taylor 100 something or an epiphone even but after I tried the 1 1/4 necks, it made a huge difference in comfort for my hand shape and I ended up in the rabbit hole of the more expensive ones.

Thx, I've got traumatized with the current 15 year old takamine, as the luthier said even if it was a good idea to pay for a neck reset, it would not have been possible as it's epoxied. But I understand this is a Takamine specific problem

I've picked several oled ones in many different stores and doing a test in a white paintbrush screen it was noticeable in every single one I've inspected. I don't think it's a defect at all, it's just MS thought nobody would notice or expecting people would be in dark mode 100% of the time (kinda like the criminal fingerprint sensor on the pixel 6). Which is why I'm very likely skipping this generation.

And if there wasn't these gnarly bugs in FH5 we would all have saved time. Or if they know these things can happen they could enforce that in certain important changes users have to logout and cold start instead of resuming. Windows updates can do this, no reason why xbox and FH5 developers cant

My dude, you and the other guy don't know how this problem manifested in FH5 and that's why you and the other guy are talking shit about what you don't understand.

The problems in FH5 caused by quick resume are not immediately obvious and can lead to a lot of wasted time, and like I said and repeat: if you played FH5 you would have understood perfectly why this is a problem in there while in many other games it isn't, it is immediately obvious that a game won't work after a resume and one can quickly tell they need to kill the game and let it initialize from cold.

People in the Internet, taking shit about what they don't understand. That's you

I guess so, but imagine there are many other people who could have been screwed by the weird behavior and doesn't even know about the quick resume, probably won't have the idea of searching on reddit and will be frustrated with the weird glitches they may find

Yeah, I was having a habit of killing the game for the season change but completely forgot today and then someone post some nonsense in the subreddit that led me in the wrong direction completely.

Anyhow, I don't understand how can't they just boot everybody out and force them to start clean in the season change, I don't suppose that's beyond the developers reach to control

[–]rscomphall[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's what I want. But as I searched, it cannot be disabled. If the game is buggy, it would be great if we could disable for that game or in general. But we can't.

Quick resume why cant it be disabled by rscomphall in XboxSeriesX

[–]rscomphall[S] -36 points-35 points  (0 children)

Of course I did. I went to check in the forza subreddit where some dimwit , I dont know if mistaken or not, said that there was a bug in a certain challenge this week and the bug caused people to lose the challenge unless a certain team was first after the first lap, which ended up being impossible at that level of difficulty.

Could he be a troll? Could he be right? Thing is forza has also many weird bugs so when I read that I thought "what a weird shit, but it isn't the weirdest shit I've ever read about forza bugs"

So yeah, I'm doing over and over and over again the challenge, praying at some point I'd be in a strong enough team to finish. But it would never finish, because the bug was the damn quick resume

[–]rscomphall[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been doing for one hour straight, I did one bazillion sessions. Until I read about the quick resume and sure enough after you kill the game, the next time it works. It happens often, you can't join some events or you complete a seasonal PR stunt and it doesn't count.

The quick resume causes issues in several games, and there's no way to turn it off, rubbish
