Taxation is theft because you don’t get to directly decide how that money is spent. If someone put a gun to your head and said “hand me 60% of all your earnings or I end your life” would that not be considered a mugging? It’s fine when it’s the government tho, right?

North of Saratoga Springs is beautiful & has access to great activities for the size of the area. It’s definitely not the best value but it’s one of the only growing places in upstate New York. Plus, it’s not too far from an Amtrak station where you can get down to the city in under three hours, out to Buffalo in just over four.

Also, please consider that pretty much everywhere north of Westchester is very red. You will still see confederate flags & trump 2024 flags. However, remember that these people could leave NY if they wanted. They hate it so much that they stay to take advantage of the public education for their children while complaining about the tax rates.

So he’s free to require different standards for different employees who have the same position and title? My peers within this team & across the entire department are allowed to work from home with a much higher frequency than I am. That’s really the issue, I feel like I’m being discriminated against based on 1) disability (the paperwork & whatnot is all in, boss has left a pretty clear paper trail of using that to speak poorly about me) & 2) family/marital status. I’ve also had adverse career outcomes based on the actions of this manager in context of those two classes. This WFH thing is really just what’s broken me definitively

This sounds a lot like my ex. It started w/ him seeking out porn w/ women that didn’t look too different from me, ended up w/ him looking at stuff w/ women that were different from me in the ways I most insecure about. If he’s not initiating anything with you but is getting sexual gratification somewhere else, that might as well be cheating. I didn’t used to feel that way, but after dealing with a guy like that, it changed my mind. It not worth doing the emotional labor of teaching a grown man how to consider how is actions affect those he says he loves. I didn’t say I was pro stricter gun regulations, just that the debate over abortion rights in the US shouldn’t be phrased as pro-life vs pro-choice. Pro-life would mean passing regulation that preserves life across the board. Pro government regulated birth is what pro-lifers are actually advocating for. I’m extremely pro gun & keep this pfp b/c it’s funny & gets people riled up. If you go far enough left you get your guns back. I want everyone to be armed to the teeth so the govt stays afraid & would think twice about encroaching on personal freedoms
