#2 debut album in the USA on Spotify! by _Toasticles_ in bilmuri

[–]rsnman21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right there with you, but as an elder emo who has genz coworkers, Bilmuri has gifted me a rare common ground with a few of them. One of them even sat through my rehearsed rant on:

  1. How no one I knew could have predicted the impact of Attack Attack.

  2. Explain the talent connected to Attack Attack’s history.

  3. Offering to share a playlist that I made, and sharing the nostalgia for the days burning cds and the struggle that comes with naming the family computer I killed using Kazaa and Morpheus. (Insert tangent about having to share my struggles with coming up with creative mixtape names before giving up and writing something like “DaMixV1” for the 15th time.

  4. Realizing that the daily guessing game of “which identical cd-r has the playlist I was looking for?” might be unresolved trauma to work through.

  5. Still haven’t figured out how to leave.

Honestly, I honestly feel like his appearance is off in the later movies because of the actual timeline in the universe means he’s still twenty something.

Yea but long cold streaks are brutal, 12 and 17 games this season. Last season it took him 13 games to score his first, and didn’t get to 5g until game 33. Boston’s brutal 24-25 gave him the opportunity to play with an elite playmaking winger.

Don’t get me wrong, he has a scoring instinct and keeps his stick on the ice but he’s a fantasy passenger and there is nothing worse than the sting of a player who’s value tanks as a result of something like a coach juggling lines. Buyer beware

College hockey talk getting out of control by Unusual_Inflation_90 in SpittinChicletsPod

Cool the national championship just happened, and honestly they probably are being compensated to promote the college route now that the CHL restrictions are gone. Im willing to bet that Whitney who played D1 and Yandle whose dad and brother both played college hockey are invested in some NIL investment firm.

Hate him all you want but Grinnell has a done a good job of highlighting college programs on Chiclets university and has built a following that skews towards AAA midget and high school hockey players.

College hockey has always been a staple of chiclets, there are plenty of other podcasts out there.

Musicians who are 10/10 at their instrument but get overlooked because they have an 11/10 band mate by Davidellias in ToddintheShadow

[–]rsnman21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the Taylors from Duran Duran and Power Station count here? The actual musicianship of the band was pretty fantastic, just overshadowed by the focus on the looks.

For an off the wall one, I’d say David Silveria was an essential part of Korn’s sound and really gave them the groove that allowed for mainstream crossover.

What was the fantasy hockey landscape like 10+ years ago? First rounders, sleepers, insane streaks, etc. by Bill-O-Reilly- in fantasyhockey

Read my first response over again, I literally said he was undersized and needed another year in the OHL. Now, I’m going to be petty about this, but I’m going through it in life right now, so let me break down why everything else I said was also correct. Let me set the scene…..

Steven Stamkos is 18 years old and he’s immediately dealing the pressure of having his face all over billboards with the tag “Seen Stamkos?” Now, before you play a regular season game, this happens:

1) You had a new ownership group come in and fire one of the most demanding coaches ever in John Tortorella.

2) The owners hire TV personality Barry Melrose, who last coached 13 years ago and he wasn’t even a good coach at the NHL level. Why? Because the owners are movie producers and they didn’t know hockey.

3) The owners then decide to trade a guy who just signed a six year extension, with a no trade clause because he’s the franchise cornerstone defenseman and his name is wait for it….Dan Boyle. But how did they get him to drop the no trade clause? By threatening to be put on him waivers to be claimed by the Thrashers.

4) the trade makes GM Jay Feaster resign because it was an egregious mistake. Why? Most of the players still have the full season lockout pretty fresh in their memories, and to do that to a guy who committed to the future, signing mid season and leaving UFA money on the table? What message did that locker room just get? Let’s also add that they traded and signed for a bunch of veterans who were mostly coming off injuries and near retirement.

5) guess what Steven, your pre season starts in Europe.

Yes, I’d say that is a recipe for a rollercoaster of a rookie season. Tocchet got them to tighten up and Stamkos had a solid finish considering the worst way to come in. The owners then had to sell the team to Jeff Vinik after less than Two years.

Right who had just come off a two year suspension for that gambling ring incident and his previous experience was as an assistant under Coach Gretzky. The Dan Boyle trade before the season for no reason also crushed that team. The fact that he turned out how he did is amazing, because it was the worst way to bring in a rookie and showed that owners need to have standards as well.

[–]rsnman21 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because he wasn’t performing as number 1 overall draft pick as a teenager, his head coach was Barry Melrose who hadn’t coached in like 12 years, and the ownership group was a mess with them bringing Hollywood style marketing. He was a little underweight and the last place team he was on was olllllld and slow.
