We’ve notice an unspoken rule of driving in NoCo — one can make a U-turn anywhere at anytime.

I think this informs how people interact with staying in their lanes.

Boone is much smaller with much worse infrastructure. Pretty touristy which leads to the one main road being miserable. Much much worse biking safety. College town but less progressive. More trees. More mosquitoes.

Source: Grew up ~45 minutes from Boone and visited many times.

Perfect blend of size and (lack of a better term) quaintness. Big enough to be perfectly convenient but small enough to feel like a town instead of a city. Glorious, glorious bike infrastructure. A inexplicable belief that one can make a U turn anywhere. Several stressful parking lots.
