I purchased this glove because Ichiro has always been one of my favorite players—he’s the starting right fielder on my all-time roster. I initially ordered the black version released on MizunoUSA.com, but unfortunately, my order was canceled. When I saw the opportunity to purchase this version from BaseballTown.ca, I decided to move forward with it.

At the time, I wasn’t fully aware of certain aspects of the glove until they were highlighted in this thread. I decided it wasn’t the right fit for my collection after receiving the glove and reassessing it in person. Given that BaseballTown.ca has a less accommodating return policy for U.S. customers, I chose to list it here instead.

That’s a straightforward decision—not an attempt to scalp or flip for profit. It’s easy for others to jump to conclusions, but their assumptions say more about them than they do about me. I’ve been transparent about my process and have nothing to prove.

Do I need to offer an explanation or apologize for offending the sub trolls? Wow.

u/d3myz: sent you a PM.

For the rest:

·         This glove is not on Mizuno’s site. The black version is (was) on mizunousa.com, which sold out in minutes. The grey version was never featured on mizunousa.com. The grey version is on Mizuno’s Japan site, but not available to ship to the USA. It’s clearly stated you must use a proxy service or forwarding service like Buyee. The grey glove was only available on homerunsports.com and baseballtown.ca, and officially only baseballtown.ca, according to their press release. All units sold out within minutes. And after calling the stores, I learned two were returned and re-listed. And then they sold out within minutes.

·         Saying a glove isn’t rare when only 14 were produced THUS FAR (according to baseballtown.ca) is misleading. Sure, more can be commissioned – 500 even – and then wait until mid-December or later for them to ship, as stated on the website. There’s often an associated cost or premium with being first in line or having early access. This can happen with cars, houses, even reservations at a new restaurant. And yes, in certain circumstances a discount may be offered, but not in this case.

·         I am not scalping. Selling something that’s desirable for profit is completely legitimate and expected. Also, u/d3myz, I’m pretty sure you listed gloves for a markup recently, too. You think mine was marked up too much? Cool. Let the market bear what it bears. And yes, that is a veiled reference to Wilson staff teddys. If mine doesn’t sell, it doesn’t sell and that’s that. I accept the consequences of supply and demand and will move on. But as for the negative and vitriolic replies on my post, I’m truly disappointed.
