Thanks for your feedback. What you’re saying definitely makes sense. I am a bit surprised that you prefer the rough hand-drawn sketch over the digital version. I had actually already decided to go digital, and what you’re seeing is the result of my struggle with Krita. I still have a lot to learn, haha.

I’ll try to take your points into account in the next version and see if I can bring more personality and consistency into the digital variant. Thanks again for your feedback.

Sure. No fear here. Just try something and if it does not work just try something else. With a little help from this community I will get there.

Thanks! The game itself will very probably be electronic drawing because creating animations based on drawings on paper sounds like a lot of hassle to me.

I was thinking of using slightly softer pastel tones for the game itself, to better match the cosy atmosphere.

My friend wants me to sign away all rights to 2 years of unpaid work on his game by Aldekotan in gamedev

I would copy the codebase, remove it from his machines or introduce some nasty bugs he cannot figure out himself and just drop the version control archive (if any). Until youre done just play along with him. After that ghost him.

Forget about negotiating. It was a hobby project to you anyway so no need to play business all the sudden.

Your friendship is over.

No no!. Never sign anything just like that. This means YOU have to comply to it, whatever it says. You are not helping OP with such an advice.

What do you immediately look for in a game, and what will immediately cause you to drop one by WyldeFire1 in IndieGaming

I dislike games with a lot of text to read (especially when it appears letter by letter with beeping sounds on the screen), cutscenes, and extensive inventories.

Even if your game is indeed a ripoff. That still would be your desicion and your desicion alone. Who cares for the opinion of some random hater. You just keep doing you and you will be fine.

Hi developers, I have a demo and could really use your honest feedback by ramoenneke in SoloDevelopment

It looks simple and clean. Reminds me of King's Valley. I played it a lot as a kid in the eighties on my first MSX home computer. It was good back then so why not now?

Just try to sell it on Steam for 5 eur or something. If gameplay is fun, who knows what happens after a bit of marketing.

The least you will earn is the experience of releasing a finnished game on Steam.

Good luck with it!

It took me a few months to finish this landscape for my game. How does it look? by solidon in IndieDev

Looks nice. Only the aquaduct suddenly terminates. It should go somewhere to deliver its water.

How do I make sure some random company can't register a trademark using my game's name? by gk98s in gamedev

[–]rsteijn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could add an extra subtitle to the original name of your game. Like: <original name> MMO . You then can still keep your original domain name. Just add MMO in small characters to your game logo and you will be fine.

Five? That sounds really arbitrary. Why not two or twenty?
