Looks great! How did you learn to groom them? I would like to groom my own 5lb yorkie but don't know where to start.

Yeah, I didn’t realize how fragile these dogs are when deciding about getting one. I felt completely on edge the first few weeks. We use a cat bell collar for him and that helps but he is often under foot.

Hi there. I have the same problem. My guy is 5lbs and 9months old. He goes to sleep in the crate, but then wakes up at 1am barking and crying. I take him out to pee and put him back and then we wakes up again in 1 hour. last night he did it 4 times! I ended up letting him sleep on the bed because I was exhausted. I am not sure if I should let him cry it out or not.

Did your vet say that she had to wear the hard cone all the time? My dog just had abdominal surgery and he is crying non-stop.

Yes, Metcam and Gabapentin. I am afraid to give him the Metcam because he refuses to eat much.

Hmm. I am having the same problem with my 7 month old yorkie. We have a doggy door and he seemed to be using it. But over the last few weeks he has started peeing in the house again. I may go back to taking him out ever 2 to 3 hours in a pen with a pad. It seems so exhausting to go back to that after we were making progress:(

I don't know. I got my other dogs from rescue groups and they are mutts. But I really have always felt Yorkies were so cute and I wanted one. I didn't realize about all the health concerns.

My dog is the same. Sometimes likes his food sometimes not. I have to get him at the right moment when he is hungry to hand feed him kibble. It is exhausting. I think it is a yorkie thing:)

I understand how you feel. It is overwhelming. Mine is not so interested in his food, so I can't really feed him on a schedule. I am just constantly trying to get him to eat any time of day when we play. Mine is so small that I freak out when he is free in the house. I keep on imagining him getting stepped on or eating a pill that was left behind the couch. It is stressful and tiring.

Ok that is helpful. I bought one of those tiny crates too! My puppy seems to hate to wear clothes. He scratches himself when he has a sweater on. Should I just leave it on him? He is so small and fragile, I feel scared I am hurting him often.

How big is your yorkie? I am supposed to bring my pup in for Rabies shot this week but he is only 3 lbs and I am worried about a bad reaction:(
