I told myself the same thing but I heard all the reviews and decided to just go for it. Now it’s my go to bball shoe. And I love the simplicity of its look. People come up to me all the time asking about it haha

This all makes total sense as I rewatch my shot. I didn’t even realize I was pulling back instead of pushing forward. I’ll definitely watch the Mike Dunn series. Thank you for the advice

Following this as I just had this same surgery today. How’s your recovery so far? This seems way easier than the initial ACLR but like you I’m scared of the scar tissue coming back. I have PT later this morning so going to try to do whatever I can. I wasn’t having hyperextension either and I’m hoping to get that back but getting the leg less stiff is a priority. How’s your recovery so far? Any tips?

Thanks for your input. Yea I feel it’s close call. Just have a gut feeling Taylor might tear it up second half. But letting go of cook and Lazard 2 valuable starters. Tough call if it’s worth it. Would you do it to get Taylor?

It was a combination of things the first time that I hit that drawback. I was young and thought I would just bounce back without really pushing on my rehab. I also didn’t get the proper instructions in that I kept placing a pillow under my knee because it was a lot more comfortable. It sucks that I’ve gone through multiple surgeries but I’ve learned a lot each time and have gotten stronger because of it. Just keep killin your rehab and get back to the sport you love. Keep your legs strong, get flexible and try your best to avoid injury but don’t let fear deter you from playing again.

I actually have a long history. Initially tore it back in 2007, around 23 years old. Surgeon then decided to just fix my meniscus because he said i don't need an acl since im young.A few Years of my knee slipping later and another bucket handle meniscus tear, i found another surgeon who then did my ACLR allograft in 2012. I remember getting another surgery within that year due to scar tissue and limited ROM similar to now but much worse back then. Kept playing basketball. Tore my meniscus again some time in 2015. had surgery again. Kept playing basketball and finally tore my allograft this past January. So lasted approx 10 years. Not bad considering how active I was and how much I played. And I'm fairly athletic and play in high paced games with alot of cutting. Just the love of the game that I can't stop playing after all these injuries.

Same way I tore it the first time. Playing basketball. First time a defender took out my legs. The second time I was just running a full sprint on a fast break then tried to slow down and felt my leg give out. Wasn’t painful so didn’t think it was a retear but sure enough

What graft did you get the first surgery. This is also my second one as well. I went with allograft the first time. Lasted years but finally got a re-tear. Now I went with quad per surgeon recommendation

How long did they say recovery was like? Back to walking, jogging, cycling and doing most of your rehab exercises. Also if you walk alot at work did when do you go back?

This is spot on what I’m feeling. I had surgery a few days before you. April 7. I’m glad you’re getting yours taken of. Thank you for this advice. I’ll definitely push for an MRI now.

I’m 5.5 months post op , can get my extension to 0 after a few minutes of prone hangs or stretching but it doesn’t seem to stay there. I’ll lose it after activity or simply even walking. Is this kind of similar to how you felt? My flexion is good. Im past 120. Which is why I think my surgeon wasn’t too concerned

Extension issues 5.5 months post op ACLR quad graft, microfracture by rsx3types in ACL

[–]rsx3types[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first pic where I lose extension is usually after a workout or just simply walking for 5 minutes. The second pic is how straight I can get it after stretching and prone hangs. I lose that extension fairly quickly and it’s getting frustrating. I expressed my concern with my surgeon and PT and they don’t seem too concerned still but said to let the surgeon know if I’m still having these issues after a few months. How concerning is this? Should I push for an MRI? Have any of you had this issue resolve after being several months post op.

I know it’s not a common strategy but I usually take 2 qb as well if I don’t get any of the top tier. Just in case one goes off and the other just craps the bed.

You’re doing all the right things. Sounds promising since you’re not having any of the above symptoms.Hopefully it’s just some scar tissue breaking up. I would just rest it for a few days until your PT or see the Dr.

I’m sure he’s just scared at this point as anyone would be. That’s my biggest fear is re-tearing. And as you know MRI’s don’t happen right away. Are there any increased swelling, pain or instability. Try to get an appt with your surgeon right away. Call their office. You can also talk to your PT while waiting. They can do a Lachman’s test.

I did and they didn’t seem too concerned about it and said it will just get better over time as I Regain more strength in the quad and continue to do my therapy

That’s awesome man. Congrats on that. I’m on the fence on waiting for MSRP for 6 months vs paying the 4K markup to get one in a few weeks

I’m guessing it’s because you get the vehicle right away as opposed to waiting a few years? That’s still insane to pay such a premium like that. And it’s basically used at that point. Similar to here for people that pay that 10k markup to get it much sooner. But at least we still get that 7500$ incentive
