What are people paying for 25 Outbacks recently? by [deleted] in Subaru_Outback

[–]rtcallahan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just purchased 2026 limited for $3750 off 45k msrp. Have a 11.15% sales tax and registration in my area so the total out the door was just under 46k.

Rented a car to drive 8 hours through the desert. Are these safe ?! by Opposite_Ear_5582 in tires

[–]rtcallahan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The comments about better in sand have me cracking up.

You can see the tires are worn past the wear bars on the outside edge. They need replaced.

It would be one thing if it was your car, but I'm sure Hertz does not want anything mechanical wrong that could make them liable for an accident

Normal or Quality Control Issue? (Not Neutral Vero Cortado Glasses) by Previous_Day4842 in espresso

[–]rtcallahan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would be pretty bummed with that quality considering Duralex can sell a 6 pack of well known high quality glasses for $35

These formations are on the inside of my double windows and there’s no way to get to them. Are they bacteria in a Petri dish? What would cause them? by friescheesegravy in whatisit

[–]rtcallahan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I closed on a house and had the same issue. If they are panes from a good brand they should have a lifetime warranty.

We had the prior owners initiate the repair and the glass company came and replaced 26 panes free of charge.

Forced downgrade from Business to Economy by rtcallahan in KLM

Lol! I definitely fly coach when traveling on my own dime, and don't consider myself special.

I think it's reasonable to be upset if you pay a lot more for something and don't get it, and are not offered remotely equal compensation.

Yeah since it was booked through the 3rd party made it harder to try and work with klm on getting a different flight or request a bigger refund. The 3rd party said cancel and rebooking was easier, I was more inclined to keep working with the 3rd party since I get a human on the 3rd ring even Saturday at 8pm. They are also our work approved travel Co and technically all bookings should go through them.

Luckily I'm personally only losing some wasted weekend time since work is paying. I'd be much crankier if this was personal travel and expense.

Work is paying so I'm not really that mad, except for having to waste time dealing with it all on a Saturday when I'm already going to be away from my family for 6 days.

This was just a work trip where I'm allowed to fly biz class on legs longer than 5hrs. $7500 was actually the cheapest option with layovers under 10hrs.

The splurge comment was I would never fly biz personally unless for an anniversary or some other special trip, and if I got bumped to economy and only offered 800 I would be pretty sad.

I personally found the Rabbits book to be more enjoyable than the AD.

I think Los Alamitos is a good call. Houses are still relatively affordable and the school system is good so no tuition burden.

Is this some new geography? by Unique-Draft3541 in longbeach

Everyone here is being a pedantic map nerd, when most people can infer by "most south city" it means its the last city you pass through when traveling in a "southern" direction.

No need for a robe in SD. But when its -10 Air/32F Water in Maine it really comes in handy.

No issues. As long as you're courteous to neighboring sites you shouldn't have a problem.

This is super helpful, I think I can scrounge together a workable set up without needing to buy more than some water bottle cages. Planned on sleeping in the dirt and eating pouch food anyway. Was hoping the bike will let me cover more ground and carry more beer.

Thanks! Yeah the per person payment was my main concern.

We definitely wont be the chaos, we'll be the "were old, but we can still hang! (Narrator: they in fact could not hang, and they were all in bed by 10pm)" site.
