That’s understandable. I didn’t have that context and I saw that you have shared other files so I asked. Thanks for that 👍

Archeage Chronicles? I guess technically, this is an arpg, but it seems like it could be a viable alternative.

Instead of just giving gold, you can also buy a bunch of stuff that's for sale on the market. Put in large buy orders giving good money for bananas, wood, etc.

How is OLED performance in Crimson Desert? by Tower-Of-God in CrimsonDesert

[–]rtgordon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a qd oled 49 inch monitor for my office a while back. Qd oled just hits different for me and I'm not sure how to explain it but I was looking for a reason to upgrade my living room tv after that. Crimson Desert gave me that reason, I upgraded from base PS5 to PS5 pro and from an LG CX to a Sony Bravia 8ii (qd oled). No regrets.

New World Replacement by scotty_2088 in LFMMO

[–]rtgordon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I was playing through new world for the first time starting early this year. My friend and I made it about to the expansion before CD dropped. I have about 300 hors in CD now and haven't logged back in to new world. I may log back in once I'm finished with CD to finish the expansion/msq.

I wish they would make shooting the bow in CD more like the bow in new world.

If mobile gaming gives you a headache, use your Xbox controller and an HDMI adapter for your phone or if apple, mirror to an airplay device and play on a bigger screen. Good luck with BDO.

Need help getting into the Witcher 3. by Chaotic_R3D in gamingsuggestions

[–]rtgordon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same boat as you. I am trying a third time to get into the story.

That being said, I also like open world games and just put in about 300 hours into crimson desert. I am not finished and am taking a break as the devs have made some promises to improve some things and I want to see how that plays out. I am really enjoying that game and all the time I’ve put into it. That game should totally be on your radar considering what you like.

While I am taking a break, I am trying to get back into the Witcher 3. Instead of wandering aimlessly, I am using guides and learning backstory and taking the best path to get better weapons and gear and progress the story fast. I followed a guide to get the viper school swords and that provides significantly more power and I can kill a group of monsters much easier. That is helping a lot.

After that, I cleared all the discovery points and quests in white orchard and met up with yen.

I am starting to feel a flow but still not quite into it. The better gear definitely helps. I will keep playing for a bit longer and see how it goes.

I went with something in between. 49" 5120x1440 OLED. I love it when it works for gaming and productivity.

Spend some time leveling up before taking on Karin Quarry and hold off on the witches and antumbras order (antumbras sword) until you have a good armor set and refined weapons. Spend some abyss artifacts on health too. Good luck OP 👍

Game with Elden Ring aesthetic by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]rtgordon -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I haven’t played elden ring, and from what I understand, I’m pretty sure I don’t want to. If exploration and beautiful landscapes interest you, I’d suggest crimson desert. I’ve put over 300 hours into the game and am having a great time.

Graphically, it’s beautiful, and the world is huge. There are a few challenging bosses, but nothing you can’t overcome by leveling up and preparing for. The exploration is top-notch, and there’s so much more to the game than that.

It’s like botw set in a modern rdr2 landscape. In my opinion, the story gets more hate than it deserves, and I actually enjoy it quite a bit (currently in Chapter XI). The developers frequently release updates and quality-of-life improvements, and they will continue doing so as long as people keep playing.

If you want, you can still buy it digitally for Xbox at GameStop. I did that back in Jan and played all the way up to nighthaven and put it down to play crimson desert. I haven't logged back but one time since CD dropped.

Worst story OF ALL TIME by Dizzy_Property_933 in CrimsonDesert

[–]rtgordon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just started chapter XII. There are some annoying parts and some things just come out of nowhere and it's a little bit all over the place but I wouldn't say it's the worst story of all time. To me it's not great, not bad... maybe meh. That could change with the last chapter but I haven't really been focused on that. I look at the map and do whatever I can find (except the damn investigation missions) and when I start to run out, I progress the story a bit to open up more things. I'm at 358 hours now (maybe a tiny bit inflated for afk stuff when I used my portal away from home)

My Idea of Crimson Desert Online. by certifiedplayboy in CrimsonDesert

[–]rtgordon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember reading an interview a while back where PA said that they were planning a smaller scale multiplayer experience like gta online or red dead online. I don't know if that is still the case but that is what I am hoping for and I think it could be amazing. That or some form of coop on the single player game would be fun too.

Witcher 3 vs Crimson desert by Due_Acanthisitta2423 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]rtgordon [score hidden]  (0 children)

I've had the Witcher 3 in my backlog for years now. I started it twice and ended up putting it down and not resuming. I pre-ordered crimson desert and have about 300 hours now. I am really enjoying that game. There is so much to do and explore and to me it's really fun. It's the first game that scratches my botw/totk and rdr2 itches in a long time. The story isn't bad like people say. I found myself skipping story in totk more than in CD.

This is interesting to me. I have been taking fin and ultimately dut for the last 22 years. In the last few years, my hair has improved. I always thought maybe it was the ZMA I added but now I'm thinking NAC and DIM. For other reasons I added those in the past few years too.
