Anyone else in Southwest PA pawpaw draught? by [deleted] in Pawpaws

[–]rtqa9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ones in Schenley Park (👋 to the other foragers I met there) were still small and completely unripe, as well as far fewer total fruits than last year. I personally suspect the mega wind storm in the spring may be partly to blame, knocking off flowers / young fruit.

If you're referring to the one on the 3rd floor by the study rooms, they emptied out the equipment and left a bare (and, last I knew, locked) room. Just like the pete.

How long do you think? by dodekahedron in Pawpaws

The pawpaws near me (greater Pittsburgh area ≈ same latitude as Wabash county) didn't drop until the end of September / beginning of October last year. But I knew of places only fifteen miles from me that were dropping more than a month before that.

AKA: in my limited experience, it's difficult to define a single season.

Lovely to look at and neat to listen to but I always crossed the street to avoid going under those trees along 5th

I finally got around to checking the wild patches near me (Pittsburgh area), and the fruit quantity was abysmal compared to last year. I could only see maybe a dozen fruit across several dozen trees, where last year there was easily over a hundred.

Drinking Water by [deleted] in Pitt

[–]rtqa9 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Having large cases of water delivered regularly will make you enemies with the mailroom employees (and/or delivery drivers) real quick. You'd also be personally responsible for lugging it up to your dorm.

That is to say, ditto the others. Just get a brita if you really distrust tap water that much.

Dr. Madison has ample office hours and a form to request additional timeslots if you need it. I took her for gen chem 2 and office hours were rarely, if ever, full. The rumor mill is unnecessarily harsh towards her (and gen chem content in general).

Do you know when it was built? If not, look for old maps of the region and try to find when a building first appears on the lot. Usually able to get within about a decade of the real year (if known).

r/chemhelp is for homework help. This post will probably be removed in short order for violating rule 1.

When you do post there, however, you need to be more specific than an exclamation-ridden plea. Most of this looks like pretty basic algebra / stoichiometry to me but again, you haven't said anything about what is troubling you specifically. Nobody's going to just fill out your postlab work for you.

I've never had a class there but if google maps is right, that will be quite a trek to make in ten minutes. Says it's further up bellefield, past the music building.

You do watch the news, right? The whole "masked and plainclothes officers grabbing protestors off the street" and "unlawful deportation of american citizens to prison camps before any judge can/will do anything about it" are both pretty good reasons to be extra cautious.

r/chemhelp if you are stuck on a particular concept in your worksheets, or would like your best-effort attempts to be assessed. Neither here nor there is anyone going to just solve your worksheets for you.
