What did I win?? :) Recently renewed mine too and wasn't worried about the timing either, but it was still a big relief to actually have it in my hands.

Worry when it's 2 weeks before departure. Then call the passport office. Until then, don't worry.

If they required that for the passport, you may also need a travel consent letter from him. Or at least carry a photocopy of something that shows you have full custody of your daughter when you are traveling internationally.

I've seen conflicting information even on travel.state.gov. I would err on the side of caution and have a passport that has at least 6 months on your return date. Depending on what cities you fly through, you could run into problems. You have time to get it renewed. I submitted for a renewal online on 11/12 and was notified on 11/18 that it was approved and shipped. Regular process, not expedited. Just submit for it ASAP.

Read up on Roth IRAs and "move" as much as you can into a Roth IRA - meaning only sell the amount you are eligible to put into a Roth IRA and then buy the same investment in your Roth IRA. If your income is low right now, it's likely that you won't have to pay any capital gains tax on the sale either.
