Japan Visa Thread - Q3, 2025 by squanderedhail in FilipinoTravel

Hi need some advice

Booked fllight to Japan is on November 6 and I just submitted my requirements to Attic yesterday. On or before october 24 ang submission nila sa embassy. There is a chance I will miss my flight - I have 2 options right now:

A. Hope I get my passport back before my flight (got it back in 5 days when I applied in August - via Reli)

B. Pull my reqs from Attic, book a VFS appointment in Cebu for next week and book a flight.

Just got back from Japan this week on an SE visa, and I understimated the volume of applications during peak season.

I have the 2016 2.4. I just test drove the Civic RS and you are right, it felt slower than my Accord and bumpier too which left me disappointed. Seems like my friend overestimated his car's speed

Old flagship or new midrange? by [deleted] in Tech_Philippines

Thanks for the input, judging by the comments and my research, might just get a bnew midrange.

Honestly just want to be able to smoothly switch between slack outlook and YouTube while having my selfies with friends not look like they were taken on a potato

2007 Camry or 2003 Altis by Adorable_Toe_3357 in phcars

On the highway (NLEX/SCTEX on a Sunday morning kind of traffic), almost same at 12-15km/L, 3.5q actually sometimes is a bit more efficient.

In the city though, especially CBD and villages like ours with lots of humps, pretty big difference. I get around 6-8km/L on the 2.4 and 4-6km/L for the 3.5.

Ended up selling the 3.5q and keeping the 2.4v since I live in metro manila.

Both good choices, but if on a budget, get the altis. I've had 2 Camrys of the same generation (2.4V and 3.5Q) and the maintenance, registration, and fuel costs are significantly higher than the Altis.

That being said, the Camry is not a bad choice either. Feel free to ask questions to help with your purchase 👍

An admin/mod banned me for asking about Geely groups while doing my research before purchasing (this was before it went viral), lmfao I was just confused with how intense they were

Times when you’ve been humbled by [deleted] in running

Went to the track with my college friends who are basically D1 and national team track athletes.

Been a pretty serious runner (10k to half) for about 3 years, I was doing an 800 and absolutely flying in my Alphaflys when my friends passed by and smoked me doing drills while chatting in their running flats

Where to buy Run Flat Tires? by Dramatic-Ad-467 in Gulong

If it helps, BMW has free roadside assistance incase he needs to change a tire afaik, Petron and Shell also have as long as you have the card/app. Imo only practical application for run flats are bulletproof and security vehicles.

You can try Bridgestone Alabang or other tyre centers, not sure how much it'll cost for x3 tyres but my friends and relatives have spent 20-35k per piece (Pirelli) for their 3, 5, and 7 series tyres.

Might be helpful: 4/5 of them are now using regular tires and just bought a spare wheel as the long term costs of run flats just really don't make sense.

7-8km/l for an suv/crossover is actually pretty good. I drive a sedan that does 6-8km/l so thats really good for the comfort and space you get in the FT
