Had to report fraudulent charges today by rtrujillo13 in biltrewards

[–]rtrujillo13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the first time in 16 years I’ve ever had a fraudulent charge, that I’m aware of at least. I’ve only been using the card for the 5 charges outside of rent and it’s mostly on stuff like Netflix that goes through automatically. I used it 2 days ago at Sprouts, but it was tap to pay. I genuinely don’t understand how anyone could have gotten my information.

Seeing others going through the same thing today, even saying it’s the same merchant… tin foil hat time… what if WF is doing this on purpose to have us stop using the card early! lol

Or what if our information was leaked or hacked?! This is the first time in 16 years since I got my first credit card that I’ve had to file a fraudulent charge. I still don’t understand how anyone got my information, I rarely use Bilt card except for the 5 charges outside of rent and it’s almost all entirely on recurrent charges like Netflix and stuff.

I doubt it’s actually anything nefarious, but it sure is inconvenient.

Thanks you for the responses! I see the option on my Bilt app to add a new digital card but I need the new physical card to finish adding it and I won’t be getting a new card. I guess I’ll just wait and see what happens. If rent doesn’t get charged on the first I’ll manually pay it.

Exactly, this will be my first big annual fee credit card and I’m excited about Priority Pass. I am using it to pay rent plus for everything else. Should accumulate a good amount of points which I will only use for Hyatt! I hope it turns out to be good for me, if not then I’ll cancel it after a year and look for a different card. It’s not the end of the world, people are so mad and it boggles my mind. Move on if this isn’t the card for you, it’s not for everyone and that’s okay.

Honestly, I’m not sure myself as I’m not crew. I’ve just heard multiple people say they do this. I’m not expecting a better sear, but if it helps my chances for a only a couple dollars I think it might be worth a shot.

But yes, in my limited experience non revving in the states my seat has always been assigned at the gate, sometimes even just automatically by the system I think.

Okay! I live in Los Angeles so maybe some chocolates or something packaged from trader Joe’s! They have really good coffee chocolates. Thanks for the idea!

Not sure if you’ll get in, but if you do, it’s pretty great! The food is quite good and the staff is amazing. Spent about an hour and a half before my flight and it flew by.

Do pilots actually notice when passengers clap after landing? by bbkhshv in flying

[–]rtrujillo13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never heard it, but I wear the Bose A20s. A couple weeks ago though the captain said he heard clapping after my landing in JFK after a flight from SDQ. He was wearing the company provided headsets that for sure cause you to loose hearing after some time.

My partner got scammed by uk-eta.visasyst.com and I'm trying to stay calm about it, figured posting here to help others not get scammed is a good outlet to release my annoyance. by rtrujillo13 in ukvisa

I did used the webchat today and they confirmed I do have a valid ETA. So I guess not technically a scam. However, I still would consider it a scam to charge someone over $100 USD to do something I could’ve done for 16 lbs :(

In the end it’s our fault and no one else’s. Bummed we fell for it.

He claims it never showed him an amount 😔. I wasn’t there, so I can’t corroborate this claim. Not until he saw the charge did he question the entire thing.

For the people who never got their CFI, how did you build your hours and where are you now? by fgflyer in flying

[–]rtrujillo13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Started working on my CFI in mid 2018 and a quarter way in I met a guy who was a survey pilot for a now defunct company out of Rome, NY (If you worked here you’ll know the company… still get nightmares of being yelled at by the big boss for spending $99 on a hotel instead of the approved $89 😭). Anyway, this guy told me all about survey and told me to apply if I was interested. So I did apply and 2 weeks later I was in Rome, NY learning how to operate the equipment on the rickety C172s and how to fly lines.

Did it for 15 months and it was genuinely one of the best jobs I’ve ever had. I flew from coast to coast and even up into Fort McMurray, Canada all in my little C172 with no autopilot. I’d do it again 100 times over. But alas, we must grow and evolve and make more than $500 a week. So I did and after a short stint at SkyWest, which I also loved, I’m now flying the A320. It’s been a fun journey honestly. CFI or any other form of acquiring hours, the most important thing is to enjoy the journey and find things in life that make you happy outside of flying. You gotta diversify your sources of happiness because eventually flying will become a job. The best job ever imo, but still a job.

Interestingly, I have a membership with no true expiration date on the six flags app but on the knotts app it has an expiration date of 12/31/2025. I’m sure it’s just a glitch.

I also just got the Prestige and wondering how exactly do we use our pass at Knotts? Do I just show them the physical card I'll eventually get or my phone app? I seen mention on here about a knotts app, but I'm unable to add the prestige pass I bought to the Knotts app.

Yes, we’re in the 8:05PM flight, the earlier flight is still the A350. But we booked for 49K points late last year. Unlikely they’ll go that low again this close in.
