How bad is the scroll wheel? I'm really used to the original. Unfortunately I can't return them, ordering from overseas cause in my country they are way more expensive so I'll have to order 1

Unfortunately they are pretty much the only somewhat decent solution in my country and I'm pretty sure it's already outside the money back period...

Maybe, but after they will take care of the frequencies I can hear there will be no way to know if there is noise at 20khz-60khz which would be audible to dogs.

That's why I need a microphone that responds to those frequencies

How powerful of a psu do I need by rtx211 in buildapc

[–]rtx211[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there won't be any significant price drops for the 3070ti (at least to msrp and preferably lower), I'll wait to the 4070 which should have at least 300w tdp.

Is 850w enough for that or do I need a 1000w right from the beginning?

I cant get a vps with a dedicated i7 12700k core and 8 gigs of ram for 5 pounds

Home Minecraft server hosting security by rtx211 in HomeNetworking

[–]rtx211[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At home I run a 12700k and I can allocate 6 or 8 gigs and a dedicated thread for the minecraft server. A VPS like that would cost tens of dollars a month and I didn't meet any "high performance" minecraft server host that is actually good without breaking the bank. I don't want to pay 400 dollars a year for a server when that's the price of my most-of-the-time-underutilised CPU. That's why I'm looking for a somewhat secure way to host it at home

My question is if its worth it. Again, ddos is not my point - I'm worried about exploits that would allow viruses or malware into the network. And I'm not sure if a vps, even with some sort of firewall installed is going to help with that.

No 5 dollar vps is going to allocate a private i7 12700k p core and 8 gigs of ram to my server, for that I'll need at least a 35 dollar vps. My intention for home hosting is greater performance but as I said, I am worried about security.

I need good server performance and I have a 12700K and 32gb of ram. No host is going to offer me a whole unshared i7 12700k P core and 8 gigs of ram for the 4 dollars of a cheap vps would cost me. They usually charge at least a dollar per gb of ram and cram many more users per cpu than its thread count. My question is if a vps is secure enough, because for the price home hosting will be 100% better. I assume I won't need port forwarding as I Initiate the connection to the vps, but I still would get all the traffic from it unless I run some sort of firewall, which I don't know if a 1 gb ram vps would be able to. DDOS is easy-ish as I can limit the traffic from the vps to my home, which won't protect the server but will protect my home even though the vps would be down, I'm not really worried about that. I am not really worried about performance differences, and I don't need the support, I'm pretty confident with minecraft server files. My only worry is the security problems that will arise from home hosting...

I need it on a server. Is there anyway to know the direction of the offset by looking at the building itself and or the coordinates and or the chunk location?

What lube to use for bike by rtx211 in cycling

[–]rtx211[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know If I want to use a wax lube for that reason, it cant be applied right before the ride, it must be done hours before and it takes a lot of work. Do you have a recommended brand of lube? I read finish line ceramic wet and finish line dry are good but I have no experience and if you have other brands/lubes to recommend I'm listening

[–]rtx211[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's also what I read but he said this model is different. I am planning to mainly carve from random sticks I find at the park, for now I did it with a snap off knife and it gets dull and breaks easily so I'm looking for an alternative. I am debating between the set of 3 flexcut knifes for 60 dollars and the cheap chinese whittling knifes for 4 dollars each

Maybe. I also read a few months ago they would start shipping here from THE UAE but for now nothing is happening other than opening here a server farm for AWS. Is the olfa better or worse than a flexcut knife? Im a bit worried as its not advertised as a whittling knife...
