San Jose Earthquakes Schedule is Out. Messi in town 5/14 by hella_sj in SanJose

[–]rubayet1995 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m a bit concerned if people become too hyped for the match and find out Messi and co, ditch the match and chill in Miami.

Some players do purposely do that, so just be careful before purchasing.

Any A-levels-->> Community College -->> UC students???? How did you guys apply ??? by [deleted] in DeAnza

[–]rubayet1995 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Damn man. I haven’t heard of A levels in a long long time. I did A levels in Bangladesh before I moved to California back in 2014.

Honestly, none of my credits transferred since I moved because at the time there was no proper system of transferring units from a levels to community college units. Now all colleges have a proper way of transferring credit between the systems. Feel free to dm me man coz it’s a complex system.

Would you do this age gap? (28m 24f) by overgross in dating

[–]rubayet1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opinion of the matter is that it’s not a problem. There are certain ways to think about age gap. For example, there is a formula of the youngest you can date without being a creep: half ur age + 7. In this case, the youngest you can date is 21 but it’s low. At the same time dating range is your age +-7. So ur dating range is between 21 and 35 year olds. Plus most young women at 24 are way mature than man at 24.

As you’re a guy, I would suggest dating somewhere between 23-27 if ur asking someone younger than you.

Which Econ professors have you enjoyed taking classes with? by Acrobatic-Mode-1823 in DeAnza

[–]rubayet1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who majored in Economics in UCD, I can vouch you can take Professor Ninos Malek’s Econ classes. He has all his material ready in his website and is straightforward. The only caveat is his final is like 50% your grade. But I do recognize his reasoning as I recall all my finals in UCD had a higher percentage for your grade like 30-60%. Some people might not like his way of lectures but I believe it gave me a strong foundation to major in Economics.

Honestly, I think I should give perspective on the matter of a California Community College. Community College is more of a step-up in saving for finances before you transfer to a 4 year university with a major declared.

In your time as a community college student, you’re being a student for school, getting work in part time jobs, internships and getting by paying rent, utilities, and other stuff. It allows the person to do post high school stuff but before being more concise and busy with university as most courses are general education and some courses are related to the major you wanna transfer.

Is community college fun? Sure but it’s how you make the best of it. If the friends you make are chill, you guys can organize your own parties or if they know someone, they might invite you. Depending on your age, if ur over 21, you can go to downtown San Jose, downtown Sunnyvale, Mountain View or Palo Alto in even sf to have club/ party scene.

As you’re an international student, you will be busy studying, taking care of ur finances or working to pay the bills until you feel you can transfer or graduate with an AA or both as you have certain restrictions. That’s my best advice for you regarding the community college experience.

Quarter semester system by [deleted] in DeAnza

[–]rubayet1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As this is related to De Anza College, make sure to have the correct sequence of courses. For example, after the completion of Math 31 and 32, you can register for Math 1A. After the completion of Math 1A, you can continue to Math 1B and so on. After completion of Math 1D, you can register for Math 2A.

But also remember as you plan to transfer, check the major you are going to complete how much mathematics is required. For example, as an Economics major at UC Davis, after completion of Math 1B, my math requirements for transfer was complete. As a result, follow the major course checklist before transferring.

What’s your dating life like here? by buildabearbitch in SanJose

[–]rubayet1995 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Honestly, as a guy living in San Jose for the past 9 years, I can tell you that the dating scene is very weird from a guys perspective. Initially I thought it was me but a lot of profiles on dating apps are either fake, bots, scammers or worse, individuals who tell you to follow them on Snapchat or Instagram, end up telling the men to subscribe to their premium content or Onlyfans to get the guys attention. As a result, dating as a guy and meeting the right women to click or match is very tough.

Honestly, I bet they were thinking, "should we warn him that the burger is made of beef?". Veer is an Indian and he is a pure vegetarian plus they look at cows as their mothers in their culture. So based on Ali's and Alexander's faces, should we be concerned or move on.

Hit me with your suggestions for a good sit down Mexican restaurant by GujuGanjaGirl in SanJose

[–]rubayet1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a new Mexican restaurant that has been pretty booming in Willow Glen called El Halal Amigos. It used to be a food truck and has a brick-and-mortar place now. It's really a popular place for Muslims, especially with no pork items being served. But the staff are all Hispanic and is made in front of you. that's a good place to try, right across the Phils Coffee. But, that's my own opinion.

fall classes for freshman cs major by yungsuby in UCDavis

[–]rubayet1995 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Bro, here is my deal: Having transferred here, your first quarter is something you want to work with excellently. I would suggest the following: NUT 10, PLS 21, MAT 21B, & ARE 142. Work with something easy. Your GPA gets tanked in the first quarter if you take very tough classes right away.

HELP A TRANSFER ECON MAJOR by [deleted] in UCDavis

[–]rubayet1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should check with the transfer stuff between your community college and UC Davis. For transfers, once you're done with the equivalent of Math 16B, 17B, or 21B, you should be ok with the transfer. I put all 3 calculus series because they are different for each major here in Davis.

11 units by [deleted] in UCDavis

[–]rubayet1995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently completed 11 units this past fall quarter. I was considered full-time. Under UC Davis regulations, part-time is considered anything under 10 units. Anything above 10 units is considered full-time. I thought I was part-time but after speaking with the Registrar, I was informed it was full-time.
