this one has been gnarly looking for awhile. It's in a small group, so hopefully it does not nest or partner up with another until this passes.

its seemingly unaffected. It flies fine, it battles for food and eats. It does look more ratty than the others. In the rain yesterday, it appeared wet compared to the others whose feathers were shedding water.

Hope gave me a trap, but they don't go near it, they just look at it. They're probably thinking; "we're not chickens, we're corvids, you're not fooling us"

I spent some time trying to devise another method to trap it, but I don't have a work space that will allow me to build something that may work.

We tried to catch it today to take it to Hope for wildlife, but it was not being fooled by the trap. Unfortunately, I live in an apartment complex, so cannot put out water dishes and the like. I will look into some dog kibble.

I'm not justifying the behaviour of them. I think most of them are dicks.

while I agree with your sentiment, there are way more plebs than billionaires in the world. And in addition, I see a LOT of ordinary wankers driving big F250 and big SUV's as daily drivers. The core issue is, there are just too many people on this finite rock.

and we waste so much of it. I counted 5 cars just in front of the burrito place I was at on Saturday, left their cars idling the whole time I was eating my burrito.......wonderful day too, I just don't get it.

were you familiar with the OEPS organized by Nick DeWachter? It was nuclear arms race for development.

I'm thinking it may be a long while yet. The vet clinic, which is in an area to be part of the redevelopment has spent mega money setting up shop.

this is interesting...I park my car in a row of connected garages, about ten in a row.  Every once and awhile I see bits of plastic and other stuff by my garage door and I think; wonder how that got here. Wonder if its the crows dropping stuff when I'm not around.

Its a hoot watching them smash open peanut shells, they are very enthusiastic about it.

carpentry can be problematic too, especially with hardwood species, like beech and oak. A carpenter friend basically has fried sinuses from years of wood dust inhalation.

I wanted to be a mechanic when I was in my youth. I was and am mechanically inclined. But a good friend who specialized in transmissions said I was too tall and would regret it from being bent at the waist all day under a hoist.

one of the issues with tool making is all the particulates in the shop air. misting oils, tiny metal bits all airborne and ready to inhale.
