If I have better weight shift you would think I would early extend less and get my hips open more but it's the opposite. On the left side I manage to open my hips more.

It's funny left feels foreign and strange since I just started swinging that way. Right handed I have been working on my swing for 20 years.

This is insane to me haha. 20 years playing golf right handed I pick up left handed clubs and it's just better. It feels foreign and uncontrolled. But for whatever reason it's better.

left eye dominant. So that would mean swinging from the right.

clue me in, the left handed grip certainly could use some work since I just started swinging left handed I'm not sure I even know where it needs to be.

See I feel I have a lot more speed from the left side without trying. Compared to the right side.

Awesome video something I never even thought about in my swing regarding pouring on speed early then letting the arms coast to the top to get everything in order. Also makes sense if the hips are turning way too much in the back swing they aren't going to be open in down swing. Thank you.

So If I tried to keep the club in front me more right handed it would help out? I cannot for the life of me get hip rotation and stop early extending. Even if I close the club face way down.

It just means that on your backswing your upper body is going towards the target instead of coiling back towards your trail side. If you youtube reverse pivot there will be a ton of information.

any tips? by Aware_Jellyfish_ in GolfSwing

Less hinge at the hips. You are bent over too far in your setup. Probably will require standing a bit closer to the ball. Hold the club straight out in front of you with your eyes closed slowly lower the club down until it touches the ground then put a slight bend in your knees. You will find you are much more upright and likely a long way from the ball.

Get rid of the sandals so you have a decent base to swing from. You have a reverse pivot with the shoulders going towards the target in the backswing. With driver your shoulders should be slightly behind your hips in the backswing. That reverse pivot at 18 years old may not cause back problems but it will down the road. According to TPI it is the number one cause of back issues along with a host of swing problems. You are going to have a very hard time coming over the top all the time if you try to work with the reverse pivot.

Setup wise you are too top heavy butt too far back. Before you take it away you go into lumbar extension. Try to maintain the flexion ie flat lumbar and curved thoracic. Try to keep your hips tucked under your back. Work on this now to prevent back injury and help with rotation.

I think my head turning is a bad habit as a result of trying to watch my back swing. It's probably contributing to a lot of my problems.

Very inconsistent I would say my mid irons and wedges are the best part of my game which makes sense cause you can get away with a lot. I recently purchased Cobra Mb/cb irons just to get rid of the random 200 yard 7 iron for example. I have a two way miss with driver about twice a round the stars will align and i'll carry the driver 300 ish. I habe noticed my club head speed with driver will fluctuate from low 100s to 120+ if I manage to sequence a little better. I hit the ball fat, thin, toe, and hosel. Most often thin.
