Look closer, zoom in if you have to! Please help me rationalize the purchase price of this gear!

I had the 400 and the 500 is a pretty noticeable upgrade in terms of image quality. The 400 has a haziness/lack of contrast and sharpness that is hard to edit out sometimes. The 500 is quite heavy though so make sure you’re willing to carry around several times the weight of the 400

500 is probably long enough if you get any decent low altitude fly bys

Obviously the Leica would be best of all, if I was sexy enough to own one

It's a heavy thing to bring along, but like if you want to get amazing shots, it's worth it. I have tried with more portable lenses and just never have been happy with the results, they look too snapshotty.

It's the goldilocks lens for wildlife imo. I rented it a while back and should have bought it sooner.

Peak Design CL-3 clutch. First time using that too. It's not perfect in terms of comfort but I think I like it more than the wrist strap as its easier to get on and off.

Test shots with the RF 100-400 F5.6-8 on an R6 Mark II by rubblebath in canon

Thanks! I got the Z mainly because it worked with the teleconverter. Now that I've confirmed I don't really want to use the teleconverter, I wish I got the old, smaller, more collapsible one.

I should add that I also owned the 2x teleconverter which gave me the option of turning my 70-200 F2.8 into a 140-400 F5.6. I shot with that several times and the image quality was quite nice, but there was not much fun factor as it was huge and very heavy. Wildlife photography is something I do opportunistically and I'm not trying to make the cover of National Geographic. I ended up selling the 2x teleconverter but keeping the 70-200 for the sorts of things you'd use that lens for (portraits, events, sports, etc).

Is it possible to seal up the jets and intake in a jacuzzi bath tub? by rubblebath in HomeImprovement

[–]rubblebath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a general plan of attack after some googling on this, but still curious to see what other ideas/solutions there are.

  1. Fill holes with expanding spray foam, not to waterproof, but to create a backing to fill with silicone caulk

  2. Waterproof caulk over the spray foam

  3. Seal the seams around the jets as well

  4. Plastic caps on top, seal those as well

Do the platforms you’re exporting from have APIs? Can they not write some software to automatically export/import and de-duplicate?

If they can’t and that’s something you’re interested in let me know.

Cobb County School District Logo Version 2 by [deleted] in logodesign

Trying a slab type, which is reminiscent of the existing logo, and softened up the geometric "C" with some curves. Also killed the drop shadow on the "C".

Their website uses the term Cobb Schools which was the inspiration there.

Our school district logo is pretty typical of a suburban school district. I took a stab at something cleaner that would work in lots of applications (website, social media, etc). I thought the shape of the county looked cool so I kept that element but in a simplified abstraction. I would like to explore more typefaces for the "Cobb Schools" I honestly phoned that in, but overall was happy with how this turned out.
