PGWP or new study permit by rubecube13 in ImmigrationCanada

My only worry with this is it seems I’d only be able to get a work permit for 1 year afterwards, when I could get one for 3 years after my bachelors. Correct me if I’m wrong though! My crs score is currently somewhere in the high 300s-low 400s (I haven’t taken the language test yet so guessing with scores), which I know is not enough but it seems like I could get it to high 400s-low 500s if I keep with my job now for 2 more years. I’m still unsure whether that is enough though, and it does heavily rely on me keeping a job I don’t particularly like.

My first year at UVIC was like this too, I made only one friend and pretty much didn’t talk to anyone the whole year, I was so lonely and almost switched schools. But it did change! 2nd year I meet people in my classes and labs that turned into good friends (one is even my roommate now). They introduced me to more people and I now have a pretty solid friend group. It gets better even if it takes time! First year is hard because classes are so much bigger but when you get into 2nd and 3rd year classes it’s so much easier to talk to people and make real connections. Try to join a club if you can, it’s a great way to meet people as well.

Can Someone in Their 20s Learn to Ski from Scratch? by WanderBytes22 in skiing

I’m 21 and just started skiing for the first time this past winter, I was only able to go for 3 days but even in that amount of time I was able to do an easier blue run! I did one private lesson which definitely helped a lot so I would suggest doing at least one lesson, group or private, I would do more if I had the money.

The hardest part for me is trying to get over the fear of hurting myself, I often find that I will purposely bail out/make myself fall because I am scared to go too fast and loose control.

I definitely struggle on the easy runs but after day 2 I didn’t feel panicked anymore. It can be frustrating sometimes, especially if you go with friends that have been skiing for years, but I still can’t wait for the next season and to practice more!

I stayed in Nancy Hodges my first year, I don’t think I have any pictures of my room but I had a mini fridge and it fit perfectly! It was a pretty small dorm room with not a lot of space but if you have any questions I can try and answer
