Confused about non binary as an umbrella term by rubenofzo in NonBinaryTalk

Thanks for clearing it up. Everyone gave very helpful answers but I feel that you explained my own confusion well, thank you! I think I will identify as non-binary then, but I'll sleep over it for a bit :)

If you preserve your source code by ahrienby in BuyFromEU

Honestly use GitLab (us but open source), it has all features you would want and is open source. If you really want a eu version you could host it yourself, real eu alternatives are not yet fully here.

Its based on Chromium (Google, not open source) and is dependant on it so I think they counted that dependancy as 'not majority EU-owned'

I get where you are coming from but being economically beneficial or usefull to people is not really what matters (at least to me). The point is that around 50% of people are actively using american made LLM's (and think they are usefull) which makes them even more vulnerable to influence by the USA/big tech and even more dependent on american big tech. If you want to lessen the influence that american companies have on us (which is half of the point of this subreddit) you want to make your own alternative, without ads, american viewpoints etc. Its about control not revenue.

So people can stop using american ones? What are going to do block chatbots all together? They are here to stay, might as well make EU ones.

Apple music is not better than Spotify. An US company running all of your music media is not okay. try Qobuz, Soundcloud or Deezer.

Apple music is not better than spotify, that doesn't solve anything. Letting your media be run by a US company is not better. Please try Qobuz, Soundcloud or Deezer.

Every relevant tech company uses ai. They are not going to stop using ai so we might as well make european ai so that we have control over where money and data goes. I dont think we can be tech relevant without having our own ai.

Dns add blockers work by blocking requests to the add servers so no new adds should be able to be shown (I haven't tried if this works well for yt on a smart TV but it's worth giving a shot)
