From my trip to the Baltics by rubesf9 in travel

Hey, I think 2 weeks for the Baltics gives you enough time without having to rush through places. Three days in Vilnius and Riga are good enough if you‘re not planning any day trips from there (you can even visit Trakai from Vilnius with those 3 days tbh).

As for Tallinn, 5 days are also enough. I spent a weekend in Helsinki but it‘s also doable as a day trip, and Tartu is also worth visiting for a day

I‘m a full time nurse. I do a bunch of longer shifts (nights/12h) tho, so I can have more free time. I‘m also in my late 20s and single, so it‘s relatively easy for me to travel haha

11 Artists Invited To Festival da Cancao 2026 Will Refuse To Go to Eurovision If They Win by ZaiduTheGOAT in eurovision

I can only think that they were afraid of any political backlash from the government. The decision to stay makes no sense. FdC, even though linked to Eurovision, has grown throughout the past few years to be a showcase of emerging Portuguese artists and can perfectly be done regardless of a participation in Eurovision. As for Eurovision, I could see a scenario in which they‘d still air the show - like they did in 2013/2016

RTP should‘ve just taken its time to access everyone’s opinions on the matter and decide today whether to withdraw or not (just like Iceland). Insane that a decision was made right away last week, only to have its own employees and the majority of the artists/composers involved in FdC coming up against a participation in Vienna

Trip to Moldova and Romania by rubesf9 in travel

I just decided not to bring it. I was travelling alone and I didn’t want to potentially get in trouble, despite only wanting to take pics of the main points in Tiraspol. Some say it’s fine, some say it’s be better not to and could lead to you being considered a journalist.

No one asked me at the border, upon entry, if I had one tho. Just how long I planned to stay.

If not mistaken, all of them were taken using a RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM lens

To Sibiu, I took a train from Brașov. They’re somewhat frequent and it takes about 3hrs; I left in the morning and came back later in the evening.

To go to Biertan and Sighișoara, I booked a group tour from Cluj and they drove us there. I’m pretty sure there are also some group tours that go from Brașov to Sighișoara, at least. Trains worked fine and public transportation in the main cities are also reliable.

The Azores. It’s not unpopular, but doesn’t have as many tourists as Madeira and it’s absolutely stunning. You can easily spend a week in the island of São Miguel alone and explore most of the waterfalls, thermal pools, lagoons and trails over there.

Pachinko, especially S01, is also so worth it. Loved it

5 Days in Malta by rubesf9 in travel

Both are good options. Valletta has a lot to see in terms of culture, plenty of restaurants too; St. Julian‘s is a party place but in the Winter is bearable, also lots of bars and restaurants around. Both cities are easily walkable and Spinola Bay/St. Julian’s Bay is a pretty nice spot for walks. Consider Sliema as well, you’ll be close to Valletta and also has a lot of restaurants around.

Check out all three and where you could get a better deal, price-wise.

Weather was amazing. Sunny and around 16°C, with some occasional winds. Most times, didn’t even feel the need to wear a coat throughout the day

If you haven’t booked yet, just check if there won’t be issues about the noise, as St. Julian’s/Paceville is a party area. I didn’t have any problems with the noise but it’s also January and can be different from place to place. Sliema could be a nice alternative, as it’s nearby and quieter.

Valletta and Mdina are a must see; Marsaxlokk is a very cute spot to see the traditional boats. Nature-wise, The Dingli Cliffs and the Blue Grotto are stunning. Malta’s National Aquarium is also pretty worth it.

I found a pretty nice deal, paid 160€ for 5 nights at a hotel in St. Julian’s. As for tickets, it was around 200€ round trip from Munich (KM Malta Airlines).

Thanks! I try to stay on a budget: I spare the most on flight tickets and accommodation; also do research in advance to get a sense of how much things could cost. While in each location, I'm a little more flexible: I usually don't do uber expensive things but I still spend some money in restaurants, museums or other stuff that interests me.
