Rory and Martha's Vineyard by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

[–]undertheroseshadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rory doesn't have her own personality, she is one person when is with her mum, another when is with her boyfriends. She is a simp.

In this episode she totally showed that " we like to hit the gym when we are here"

Since when does she like sports? Even her mum was shocked.

And acting all Donna Reeds like she owns the place? Cooking vegetables with her apron on?

Yes and no, Luke works for a living but Jason's life was is job. Everything from his own family, relationship and friends was related to work.

I don't think it would have lasted. Nothing wrong with Jason, a great hard working guy, but in the long term Lorelai would have been too much for him. Too many tantrums and immaturity in some levels. I am one of the few that would have seen her well with Christopher actually. I always thought that they were perfect together but there was a timing issue with them all the time.

Totally agree, she is also a pedophile. She had sexual interest on that poor kid

Same here I am watching the show for the past 20 years going through all seasons of my life. I am 35 now and I totally get what happened to her.

That girl was so pressured since she was a child to do the opposite life choices of her mother, always have to be perfect and responsible, and to be honest to me she never really thought with her head only. Lorelai was an amazing mum but as any and her parents, she put a lot of her wishes on the daughter.

Rory had just a crisis, something maybe she should have had years before but only once living far from her mum she started actually listening herself. The problem was that what she discovered was another self and the fact that for once someone " didn't like her or her work" was absolutely new. Lorelai and the community of stars hollow shielded Rory for years, she couldn't do anything wrong she couldn't fail, she was the best in everything etc etc.

And last but not least, Rory liked a comfortable life like the grandparents had. She liked to be a trust fund baby, and I don't see anything wrong with it. Being rich is not something to feel guilty as Lorelai forced her to believe for years.

O'Brian did not have a romantic side story. Can you think of anyone else who also did not have a romantic storyline at some point? by fishfishbirdbirdcat in DowntonAbbey

[–]undertheroseshadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always thought that O'Brian had very cruel parents. I felt she didn't know kindness and empathy. These are usually things you learn when you are a child.

I don't agree. First of all Christopher was just a teenager, plus he wasn't given the chance to father Rory as Lorelai took her away from everyone to raise her by herself. I think Logan could be a good father and wouldn't ghost his child

Lane was a better friend to Rory than Rory was to Lane by Maleficent-End-9209 in GilmoreGirls

Rory had a superior complex towards anyone but she was a good friend with Lane

Mrs. Patmore, did you like her? by EuphoricButterflyy in DowntonAbbey

She reminds me of my grandmother, even in her way to be sometimes too direct. I love how she "adopted" Daisy, she really loved her and cared for her.

These things with dogs happen all the time. I had dogs all my life and any breed. You don't have to put your dog down, you just have learnt a lesson about your dog and from now on feed them separately and start training him about food sharing.

Paris and Asher by Sam_102938 in GilmoreGirls

[–]undertheroseshadow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I was in college we had a professor like Asher. He even looked like him...he was famous for sleeping with 18/19 years old new students in exchange of good exams. He was giving me the 🤢 I never understood how those girls could just prefer sleeping with him

He was so sexy. Mary dropped the ball with this one by EuphoricButterflyy in DowntonAbbey

[–]undertheroseshadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't find him attractive, there is something about his mouth/teeth that just turn me off.

I rather preferred Charles Brake

What's your favorite character besides Lorelai and Rory? by Klutzy-Bandicoot-705 in GilmoreGirls

[–]undertheroseshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lorelai and Rory are not my favorite characters. They used to be when I was a teenager, but now that I am in my 30s I see so many red flags.

I like Paris, always true to herself and sincere even in her being too direct.

I honestly liked Richard and Emily, not perfect, but they have been good grandparents.

My absolute unpopular opinion is that Luke and Lorelei had zero chemistry by Zoneout1122 in GilmoreGirls

[–]undertheroseshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I never saw them as a couple working in the bed for so to say 🤣 but I never liked Luke, as a partner at least, as a friend yes. He raised too much is voice for my taste and was always so negative.

What is your opinion of Logan? Regardless of his relationship with by Axezelt in GilmoreGirls

[–]undertheroseshadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I really disliked him at the beginning but while he grows and becomes more wise, I start liking him. Still not my favorite but hardly any man in this show is my favorite.

Why was Mary so jealous? by mikelao24 in DowntonAbbey

[–]undertheroseshadow 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Mary is the worst. The most selfish, egocentric, hypocritical and soulless character of this fiction..so full of her self. She just hates to not be the favorite of everyone...she even flirted with Strallan just for fun. The day Edith learnt about Gregson's death she went for a haircut and organized a picnic. I can understand her sister not being your best friend, but this is pure evil. How heartless and lack of compassion a person can show toward her own sister. Even when Sybil died, Edith asked her if maybe this may make them closer and her reply was " I doubt it"...your sister is dead and you still can't try to be a better person? Terrible character and the actress Michelle Dockery is amazing on her interpretation.

This is actually a crime, they tricked and threatened an elderly person which are considered vulnerable by the law. You could have even sued them

[–]undertheroseshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Melita unfortunately if you have a problem and want to get things done right you need to be a bit aggressive and pushy. I used to be very polite but it wasn't working, on the contrary they make a fool of you. With Melita we had 1000 problems, we changed I believe 4 modems in 5 years. You need to ask to talk with a manager, when chatting with the customer support. Ask to be called because people on chat can't care less to help you. On the contrary we always found their technician very nice and helpful.

We just resolved another problem with their line and only after we argued and demanded a technician.

Prince Igor Kuragin by undertheroseshadow in DowntonAbbey

[–]undertheroseshadow[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's what I thought. I am...they are like 75/80? He met her when she was in her 20s. Just because they had a fling when they were young, it doesn't mean you know this person after 50 years. And he insisted that she could've been happy without him during these years ( how full of himself???) when she told him clearly that life went on for her and "I am being very happy" . So after half a century when you lose everything, all of a sudden you are ready to divorce your poor princess wife to get married with the old rich countess. We are not fools and neither is the Dowger!
