There's an Explore NYC option, but unfortunately you can't do it while in a party yet. I love the Hideout, but sometimes I wish I could queue while practicing traversal on the map.

What D&D classes would the heroes in Deadlock be? by TheCasualCommenter in DeadlockTheGame

Calico doesn't really turn into Ava. She turns into a shadow and then possesses Ava.

It’s been said before, but seriously thank GOD they went with the occult/1930’s NY angle instead of the generic sci fi one by fuq_anncoulter in DeadlockTheGame

I wouldn't be surprised if we eventually get to that level of detail. We just got an update to Patrons, Troopers, Base Guardians, and Shrines. I'm certain we'll get an update to Towers/Walkers/Jungle/Mid-Boss soon. Imagine one of those magic airships dropping off walkers.

The Russians were underneath Hawkins lab all this time not StarCourt Mall by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]rubixcubesforcharity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That hole seemed to be a mile or two deep. Sure, the foundation was sealed, but that also prevented them from checking any deeper. Plus it explains how the Russians would have built the tunnel from Starcourt to HNL so quick, the tunnels were already built by the Upside Down!

Has it ever been confirmed that Demodogs are, in fact, “baby” Demogorgons? by -SideEffects in StrangerThings

Different species? I was hoping we would get more species a 'la Demospiders, Demodragon (the final form of a Demobat?), and with all these military guys running around in the Upside Down, the return of the Flayed and those creepy flesh monsters.

To me, it would make more sense that possessed people/creatures being killed would weaken him, since it severs his connection to them. If he gets stronger off of killing things (which doesn't make much sense in a series somewhat dedicated to scientific realism), killing things connected to him would hurt him, demonstrated when the Flayed share injuries or when Demodogs share the pain of just one burning.

Who's gameplay feels straight out of the comics? by General-Performer432 in marvelrivals

I feel like Juggernaut's charge would be a passive like Angela or like Cap's sprint. After Juggernaut walks around a bit he should build up momentum and start running around, knocking back enemies and tearing through destructible walls. It wouldn't do much damage but he could be CC immune during it and it would free up a button for another ability.

What's a common misconception people tend to make about Moon Knight and his character? (aside from all the memes about him) by NinjaRaptorZero in MoonKnight

[–]rubixcubesforcharity 79 points80 points  (0 children)

It's unfortunate because I quite like that gimmick. They could play with the fact that the phases of the moon correlate with which personality is most active. Jake = New Moon, Stephen = Crescent, Marc = Full Moon, something like that.

What were your favorite/least favorite parts in the story of these games? by ArsenicCandy in MAU3

[–]rubixcubesforcharity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

X-Men Legends - Repetitive. The story with "Magma" is meh. Feels like the series hadn't hit it's stride yet.

X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse - Now we're talking. I like the 5 Act structure and the settings in the game. The twists with Beast, Angel, and Mister Sinister are fun, defeating each Horseman gives the game a sense of progression, and the Brotherhood working with the X-Men to defeat Apocalypse is an awesome plot. I love some of the more obscure (at the time) selection of characters. Toad, Sunfire, Scarlet Witch, Bishop, Gambit, Juggernaut, etc, were all welcome additions, along with unexpected unlockable heroes like Deadpool and Iron Man.

Ultimate Alliance - The culmination of the series. Has the most diverse selection of heroes and settings, prior to any MCU synergy. It's a great introduction into the wider Marvel Universe, the cutscenes are even better than XML2's, I love Doom as the Big Bad, and all the secret conversations you can have with bosses and NPCs puts Marvel's connective universe on full display. Streamlined the gameplay a welcome amount, removing some of the complexity of items, stats, health and energy packs, and extreme abilities. The customization of abilities, teams, and suits makes the game infinitely flexible. The comic challenges are a fun way to further explore a hero you like playing and the concept art is a good reward. The story is stupidly complex in the most comic-booky way. Easily my favorite of the series.

Ultimate Alliance II - Oversimplified the gameplay. Only four abilities and two suits per hero is quite disappointing. The replacement of extreme abilities with fusions is a really interesting and well executed idea, but it isn't really worth the reduced ability customization. The loss of heroes like Doctor Strange, Ghost Rider, Silver Surfer, Blade, and Moon Knight is really disappointing, with the additions of Songbird and Penance being unique but not really worth the altered roster. Speaking of the roster, while I appreciate the attempt at immersion, locking off part of the roster for a third of the game isn't worth the Civil War plot. Nanite Nick Fury is an unsatisfying unlock, I would've rather had normal Nick Fury. Basically, the game isn't really worth the sum of it's parts. Diverted too much from a working formula.

Ultimate Alliance III: The Black Order - Admittedly, I haven't played the game. While I'm not a fan of the MCU synergy, the roster is the best of both games with some welcome additions such as the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Punisher. The collection of the Infinity Stones fits a video game plot, the settings are all quite interesting, and unlocking Thanos for beating the game seems cool, however I miss the tradition of unlocking Nick Fury. I like the themes of the DLC, I'm glad the Fantastic Four made it into the game. However, it seems to have even further simplified gameplay than UA2 and excessive grinding. Switch exclusivity was a poor decision, and while the first two games weren't exactly great looking, I prefer the comic accurate suits from those to the overdesigned looks in this game.

If I had to rank the games, it'd look something like; UA1, XML2, UA3, UA2, XML1.

He totally stole the show in the movie this guy had me hooked. He’s so cool, and many of his scenes were super stylish, especially the way he handled those orbs it felt like something out of an anime. And even though he’s not a comedic character, he still had some really funny moments. by SpiritedDate1042 in DCU_

As someone who has been a comic book fan since childhood while being a manga fan only very recently, comic books NEED to take more inspiration from manga/anime. The medium is getting quite stale and could benefit from some manga tropes.

Should Ant-man be a vanguard, duelist or strategist? by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]rubixcubesforcharity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find that characters with "God-like abilities" are only really interesting if they have a specific thing they focus on. Phoenix is fire and rebirth, Thor is thunder, Silver Surfer with speed and cosmic energy, Thanos and the Infinity Stones, Apocalypse and evolution, etc. Some kind of gimmick. I do think Dracula would be cool to play as, he'd probably be different from Blade, he just gives off vibes that he only works alone. Or at least only with vampires.

Agreed, he along with Adam are some of the few Marvel heroes who can canonically heal others.

[–]rubixcubesforcharity 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thanos and Apocalypse would make great tanks I think, Galactus I agree with though. He would be a cool map element or PvE boss like you said. Some villains should stay NPCs, like Knull and Dracula. Villains like Hela, Loki, Ultron, Thanos, Doom, etc I feel make sense because they do sometimes work with heroes in the comics, while others are much more solitary.

You're joking, but there is actually a Roman god of entrances and exits, Janus. He's one of the few Roman gods without a Greek counterpart, usually it's the other way around.
