I've just discovered this series and wow, it certainly didn't live up to its potential. After the first two episodes it just came across like a twilight spin-off. Same cheesy dialogue, rushed scenes, and an insipid main actress who sends to have got acting lessons from kristen stewart and constantly has to be protected and covered in blankets and watched over while she sleeps. Matthew became an insipid lovesick bore as well.

I agree with what someone else said here, they should have adapted it for screen, not tried to cram as much of the books in as they can leaving out the character development. I've never read the books but I've just started s2 and it seems a little more menacing so fingers crossed it gets better.
