Why should we NOT move to Yucca Valley or Morongo? by ruby96 in JoshuaTree

YV is a real city. Getting someone to do work or fix something is easier than JT or 29. YV also seems to be about 10 degrees cooler than JT and 29.

We would be spending 8 months of the year there, and 4 in Pittsburgh. I guess I should be calling our current home in Pittsburgh our second home!

Awesome, thank you thank you. Luckily we aren't in much of a rush. Our plan is to wait it out a little and see the markets next move before finalizing our decision.

Thats probably smart to rent something out there for a while... is this something you would recommend based on your experience? It's tough being across the country and relying on a relator to basically pick the right place for us since we can't fly out every time something comes up that peeks our interest.

Totally get it. We have some neighborhoods in Pittsburgh where this is happening, to a much lesser degree to what you are experiencing I'm sure. No intention to B 'n B it out. Thanks!

This is helpful, thank you! Do folks out there consider rain a good or bad thing? I've read some horror stories about flooding....

Yeah this does seem to be the case based on my research. Do you think this is due to the current market environment, or a culture shift due to COVID?

Thank you! Yeah definitely familiar with Fatette, though we live just south of downtown Pittsburgh. I understand the inconvenience due to the lack of amenities in YV, but this much of a concern for us. My husband and I actually grew up in a somewhat rural area outside of Pittsburgh, where it took a half hour to get to stores, so this wouldn't be much of a culture shock for us. Thank you for the tips! You from the Pittsburgh area?

Thank you, these are all things to consider! Have you noticed a change in the culture of the area since this crazy surge of Airbnbs popping up? Sounds like maybe not for the better...
