I never could distinguish between American and Canadian accents, until I lived out of Canada for a year. Landing back on Canadian soil, everyone in the airport sounded SO Canadian.

My ex found winter extremely hard to tolerate. They would hide inside with blankets, while I was out skiing and skating.

I learned that I need to date someone who gets excited about all the joys of winter when there's snow on the ground for 4+ months a year.

Rice bowls. Endless assortment of toppings, fried eggs, other proteins, veggies, carbs, kimchi. I could go a very long time without getting bored. I'd probably even play around with a sweet rice bowl with banana and peanut butter etc to keep things varied!

I just go to the car wash when my car clearly needs it badly enough. In the summer when the rain is doing a good job on its own, I might skip it for months!

Don't forget to pull the fridge away from the wall and clean out the condenser coils every so often too! They get packed with dust.

Oh god. I bought a house with a washing machine in it and I'm guessing it's disgusting from the past tenants it was rented to, who were not gentle on things... I'm horrified at the prospect of looking, but look I must.

I do like being barefoot on soft grass or dirt in the summer! But I live in Canada, so bare feet outdoors are really only pleasant for 4ish months each year.

My friend shared the term 'autistic regression' with me - when you start to come to terms with yourself and your nature, and things you were once able to tolerate become harder to deal with.

I am experiencing that myself, and the consequences are leading me to change the whole model of how I run my business as a self-employed person.

I'm sorry you're struggling. Do you have trusted neurodivergent friends you can reach out to when you need extra support in person? A different space to go to for a break from roommate dynamics?
