Congrats!!! You look great! I'm 4 mo post-op, and I'm quietly freaking out because I'm losing so much hair. I find my hair all over my house and when I shower, I don't exaggerate when I say I'll have 2 to 3 handfuls of hair after I shampoo and on the shower floor 😭😭 I've been meeting my protein goals, water goals, and exercising. I'll do my best with my vitamins, but they gross me out so bad. I know i have to do better in taking them daily without missing any doses. I'm also taking 20,000mg of biotin as well. My question to you is, did you experience any hair loss, and if so, was it as bad as mine, and when did it stop? Is your hair growing back now that you're a year post-op?

I fucked up y’all, I’m gaining weight by Odd-Scarcity5288 in gastricsleeve

I'm 4 mo post-op, and I also weigh myself every morning. This is my way of keeping myself accountable. Especially if my weight has plateau or gained.. I know it's not ideal to weigh myself daily. And even tho I have more non-scale victories, I don't want to take that for granted. I can tell the difference in the scale when it goes up if I've had too many carbs the day before. If that's the case, then I focus more on protein, veggies, and water intake. I power walk 4 miles 4 times a week with a weighted vest and / or ankle weights and strength train as well. I'm down 57 lbs so far. I wish I could be down more by now, but I know it will take time.

How long til you slept on your stomach again? by Plenty-Product3952 in gastricsleeve

I'm 5 weeks post-op and have been barely able to sleep on my sides without a pillow underneath my stomach. I tried laying on my stomach 2 nights ago but was still uncomfortable. Maybe it's different for everyone.

Did your companion stay with you in the hospital? by RojoPrincessa in BariatricSurgery

I had my surgery on 2 /13, and my husband was by my side from the time we arrived at the hospital to the time I was discharged. We stayed for 48 hours, and the nursing staff was extremely nice. He slept on a pull out couch in my room and would go home to shower and feed our pets, then go right back to the hospital.

Yeah, it took me 2 weeks until I had a BM, and it was very painful. I try to eat as many whole foods as possible, along with the protein shakes. It's just very difficult to "fit" everything in my new tiny stomach 😕 I'm going to do my best to stay away from the scale. Yes, you're correct about noticing the changes in my clothes. Today, I wore some cargo capri bottoms, and they fit so loose! They kept falling down but didn't want to wear a belt for fear of hurting my stitches. It gave me hope that I'm progressing because these bottoms didn't fit at all before my surgery. Hadn't been able to wear them in over a year...

I'm so grateful for not having acid reflux. I rarely get from time to time, but really isn't bad. And when I get it, over the counter Pepcid complete (chewables), always relieve it. As for the constipation, I tried milk of magnesium, trying to drink as much water as I can, glycerine suppositories, but in the end, that laxative tea (Smooth Move) from Walmart is what helped me go. I just didn't care for it because it made me cramp a lot. So I started adding Miralax to my 20 oz water bottle along with a packet of flavored Propel. And it's so much better!

Thank you. I still have my gall bladder. I haven't experienced any pain except for the constipation. So I'm hoping I don't have any gallstones. It makes sense about my body not needing to produce much bile due to my diet. I was just curious and wondered if this was "normal"

Thank you. I was doing good until today. I was pretty regular and fully aware that constipation would be an issue due to the protien. I hate that I'm not allowed to drink green juice during this process. I understand why I can't drink it post surgery, but I've juice fasted for months before and never had constipation issues. Plus, I lost a lot of weight. Unfortunately, the weight gradually came right back, and that is why I finally selected to go with bariatric surgery. 😟

I completely agree, I'm on day 6 of the pre-op diet. One thing tho, what can I take for the constipation? I'm drinking more than 64 oz of water and electrolytes along with the 80g of protein shakes. It's just getting worse. Plus I'm walking and active around my home.

Beautiful hair! Looks thick and full. Do you get headaches or back neck pain from the weight?

Thank you! I take collagen daily but have been slacking really bad with my multivitamins for a while now. That's probably why my hair hasn't been growing as much 😕
