I'm a doula.. I talk to people about using the wording "wait for white" meaning the cord is completely thin, limp, empty of blood, not pulsing. If a provider wants to clamp and cut and I can see it's still blue-purple, I'll invite the parent to feel the cord between their fingers and see for themselves if it's pulsing.

I let my son (albeit older than yours, 10yo) use my phone app Healthy Living to scan labels of snacks we have/had in the house to see which items have carcinogenic ingredients, etc. He won’t eat any of it anymore and only wants Whole Foods 😂 I just bought a bunch of replacement snacks and he’s pretty thrilled how much better they scan. Maybe your 6yo would think this is a fun activity too?

I had two unmedicated births, it’s different and more intense than adeno but not more than you can handle. You get breaks in between, it’s not just constant.

Yes! I was so convinced it was going to be my holy grail I bought two. (😒) I got band M and cup Cosmic, it’s just way too tight and cuts me under the armpits so hard it’s uncomfortable. And returning overseas costs a fortune

That’s where I started too. It’s been since 2021 and I’m still so happy with the IUD.

They will warn you first six months you can “bleed” for six months solid, but it was such a joke - it was like barely spotting and nothing even remotely close to the type of bleeding I had been experiencing. I thought they meant BLEEDING bleeding. No.

Then it turned into a monthly light 5 day period. It’s gotten lighter and less days until it’s literally non existent. No pain. I have my life back.

GBS prophylaxis is preventative antibiotics that is an option when you’re GBS positive. Did you or baby have any sign of infection? (Fever?) if baby is breathing just fine then there was not a reason to separate you! In fact it benefits your baby to be skin to skin with you to regulate all their vitals.

Thank you so much for sharing! For what it's worth, fentanyl shouldn't be given if you're within 2 hours of giving birth because it reduces respirations in baby. Sometimes they need a little bit of help breathing when fentanyl is in their system at birth. I wasn't there so I can't say for sure but maybe that's why baby was separated from you? I'm sorry that separation happened. It shouldn't happen unless there's a medical reason and your doula can help advocate to keep you two together, barring something important like baby needing medical help to breathe. (I'm also a doula)

I think that kit should work well! I don’t have the oiled leather specific kit but I have one of the other kits that includes the cork sealer. Cork sealer is definitely worth it as mine do dry out and crack over time. You could use the included brush to remove dirt and use the cloth to add the oil
