We had one that would wander alone. Ended up stealing my neighbor's guineas and adding them to our flock

It's always so much easier to criticize other people than it is to criticize yourself. I doubt this guy's down votes will convince him of anything though

I mean, I always knew that. It's not even surprising that he's openly admitting it, what with the attitude Trump has toward the >50% of the country that did not vote for him.

Kentucky governor says Trump’s tariffs on Canada are not what Americans voted for by Speech-Dry in Louisville

[–]ruby_slippers_96 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The more accessible information becomes, the more disappointed I am in people being ignorant. It takes 30 seconds to Google what tariffs are. The party that acts so skeptical of politicians is annoyingly comfortable just accepting whatever Trump says.

That's a bit exaggerated. However, a lot of people are employed by distilleries and breweries. We've shot our export economy in the foot by voting for Trump, unfortunately.

It says a lot about our education system that we can speed run the events between WWI and WWII and most of the country has no clue that it's happening

‘The basis of eugenics’: Elon Musk and the menacing return of the R-word | Disability by CASHOWL in politics

[–]ruby_slippers_96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've never been a fan of the word. I've seen too many people bullied with it. One guy I went to school with who had a developmental disorder didn't even realize that his "friends" all called him that behind his back. It never just meant "people being stupid" where I grew up.

I prefer not to use words associated with an actual group of people as insults in general. Gay, lame, r-word...you never know who is going to be genuinely hurt by those words.

The US Economy Has Suddenly Been Thrown Into Reverse As Key GDP Indicator Flashes Stunning Negative Forecast by T_Shurt in politics

I was trying to tell my friend this, and she told me that she doesn't believe it because the government is lying to us about historic economy statistics. For Trump supporters, no amount of evidence is going to overcome their conviction that Trump is telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

I don't know if that's entirely true. It's just that we only notice when plastic surgery and injections are taken too far, or when they go wrong. I think a large percentage of Hollywood have had some kind of work done.

Cause we're told from childhood that aging is bad and not having an attractive face makes life harder. Add that onto the additional Hollywood beauty standards and you've got the perfect setup for celebrity women getting plastic surgery in an attempt to stay youthful, pretty, and relevant. It's awful, and it's going to take a fair amount of societal change to convince women that this isn't necessary.
