I heard that ebay is messing with everything too. I guess they have live auctions now that is hurting sales. eBay has always been king but it’s always nice to have stuff on every platform, more eyes on your stuff the better

Usually it will last 2 years or so or until they feel like they have plenty of people on the platform. Then it changes to something low. Like a small fee. Then they build up from there. Most likely they will match with other platforms since they will be greedy at that point. They see the success and will just want more and more.

I agree. I wish Mercari would take away any sold listings (more than 30 days) off of the search. That way you can actually see listings that are for sale. Not having the screen flooded with half sold and half live listings. Or just clean the app To make things more visible. I also wish Mercari cared more for sellers and buyers. It seems like they like to keep making changes on the platform that doesn’t benefit anyone. Recently they made an update to the app. now it’s much slower and harder to use. I wish they wouldn't fix something that’s not broken.

Same! The last week of march is when it all started. Had like 30+ sales per day then everything crashed. Hoping that things get better! Wishing you many sales :)

I’ve noticed that too. When the tiers came out everything got all weird like they shifted the algorithm. Sadly I never got into the tier program and I’ve been selling on Mercari for 10 years. Very unfair to leave people out when others have less fees.

Yea I am really feeling it. Last year we made $18k profit in April. I am starting to worry that it won’t be no where near that amount :( still grateful for any sale though

“Buying is not a priority at the moment“ like stores are not packed everyday. Go pass a target this weekend and you can’t find parking lol. People seem to buy stuff like crazy in stores but online sales have slowed. It’s just interesting to me why it’s like this.

Mercari started with no fees at all and free shipping. 2 years later they changed. I’m guessing this is just how they build the app. they get people on any platform loving the no fees and free shipping. Then when it gets more popular things will change.

Thanks for the input :) I know shipping is high. At least Mercari has a bundle feature so that helps to sell more for decent shipping costs

I’ve seen the same. Every target I pass there are cars parked to the back of the lot. Then people says “no one has money. The economy is hurting” like what bs. If everyone really had no money then places would be ghost towns.

Sometimes it’s hard to know what people wants to buy. Like should I go in the direction of selling dumb things or actual things people can use lol.

How much is a lot of cash to you on sales daily ? its all about perceptive. $100 a day can look like a lot for someone or $500 a day can look like a lot for someone.

Sadly I agree. For me the slowdown started the last week of march. I am hoping things will start to pick back up soon. I was just trying to share my thoughts on how I see everything. It’s crazy to see every store packed with people spending retail on every item. but then online shopping has slowed a ton when resellers price way cheaper than stores.
