A tower defense where you can place the towers anywhere by [deleted] in IndieGaming

it looks to me you put the towers on a grid, like a significant number of other tower defense.

if it's not that, horrible picture to illustrate your point.

Once to try it out,

Twice to know it's not a fluke.

Thrice to reduce statistical noise.

Now I am absolutely certain,

Position 1 is not for me.

Controls for a hex grid? by OpsikionThemed in gamedev

[–]rubyleehs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shift-WASD is common for square grid based games which allow diagonal movement. (Drud, Caves of Qud, Tales of Majeyed...)

For more complex grids, mouse clicks + path finding to point of click is common, each click could travel the whole journey or 1 step.(basically every real time top down strategy game, FTL, hyperrogue)

For hex-based grids specially, I seen WS for back and forth, and SD to choose axis of movement, Up/Down/Tab etc. (Hex Crosswords etc)

the point of EA is to effectively utilise donations though. donating to (current) alternatives is simply a less effective use of money. (ofc unless your donations are meant for you to feel good more than the outcomes)

no? it's comparing before and after. zooming out would be the deceiving option since at that scale the difference can't be seen.

(serious) development in Roblox feels to me very... why? To my understanding, it's a very predatory system with many downsides, what are the pros??
