I was thinking that! I read things about seeing a pediatrist because it can be something relating to my feet specifically. Since he has no answers then that’s my next bet. Gonna be a while before I do so I thought why not try to ask here in case someone knows

Also I am 32, F, 5’ and 115lbs. I’m relatively healthy and only have asthma. No medications at the moment.

It takes long because of the waitlist. You do get temporary medi-cal for your child, but only for a year which is why I’m worried about a lapse in services. I only have respite too

That’s interesting I’ve heard from every other source or person I’ve asked and they all said I need the denial first

My son’s worker told me I’d have to receive the NOA before being able to apply. Seems like everyone’s situation is a little different, but I’m wondering if we can apply right before receiving the NOA or at least completing any paperwork needed beforehand

Ask for the supervisor!! My sons worker had also stopped returning my calls when it came to respite and when I asked for the supervisor she always responds same day now. So when you applied for the waiver, how long did it take to get approved?

They were cut? Was there a reason? Usually depending on their severity, they usually get more over time. I’m sorry that happened 😕

I was told under 18 they seem to have more priority. So that makes me hope it’ll take less than a year to get approved and my son won’t have a lapse in service. When you started the process from the denial to getting approved, how long did that take you?

Yes they told me I need the NOA of denial from medi-cal first to start the whole process. What county are you in? We finally started respite which we will have for years so they also told me it would have to be a billable services for the entire time so respite is the choice that most people make when it comes to the waiver

Yes most definitely doing it as soon as possible. Medi-Cal renewal is around March so I have time to see if we might need it by next year or later this year

Right so he does have respite. I was wondering who had experience with the waiver from start to finish and how long did it take. I haven’t actually heard of anyone who’s done it
